Rant: Persistant sales clerks.
I'll bet the inattentive sales assistants would notice if we tried to walk out the door with an item from the store. I hate when assistants (usually women) are too snooty to serve you even when you're right in front of them at the counter.

I know, they're all NT teengers who would rather socialize than do the job they're paid for.
I hate overattentive staff in shops. I tend to go shopping with my boyfriend (read as: 'My boyfriend drags me out shopping when my clothes are beginning to disintegrate' ) and fortunately for me he is very chatty and will joke with the shop assistants while I am left alone to pick what I want to buy.
I hate clothes shopping with an absolute vengeance. Last time I was dragged off to buy a new pair of jeans I ended up having a bit of a strop and had to leave the store to sit outside while I calmed down. Conversation tends to go a bit like this....
Me: But I don't want a new pair of jeans, I like these ones
BF: Look at those, they're falling apart! You need new jeans. Buy 2 or 3 pairs now, then you won't have to come again for a while
Me: How busy is it in there?
BF: Not too busy
Me: *wanders into store, blinks at bright lights and muzak, can't find jeans in the confusion of it all, leaves*
BF: That was quick
Me (getting cross and upset): They haven't got any jeans
BF: Yes they have, they're over on that wall there *points to a very obvious display of jeans that I had not seen, ushers me over to jeans*
Me: I don't know which ones to get, which ones should I get?
BF: Get whichever ones you like
Me (pouting): I like the ones I'm wearing. I don't want new jeans. You tell me which ones you would like me to get, and I'll buy them.
BF: I'm not going to tell you what you should wear!
Me: *points at pair of combat trousers* what about those?
BF: *snorts* They're horrible, they'll look awful on you!
Me: Well pick something for me that's not horrible then!
BF: *rolling eyes and sighing* OK, what about those jeans? They look almost the same as the ones you have.
Me: OK I'll get three pairs of those. Can we go home now?

I agree with you! I once read that clothing styles
aren't changed(if your autistic) since it breaks a
pattern. I replaced my old wool military swiss army
jacket with one just like it. The old one died a
horrible death.
My shoes have to die a horrible death, and then I
replace my post-mortem type socks.
My shirts are black, black-turtleneck, 2 tuxedo
shirt(had for 5+ years) and the last bit of
clothing(besides replacing my deathly jacket)
was being daring and buying cargo shorts
that are badly in need of replacing since 2002.
I am not a clothing shopper, shoe shopper,
jacket shopper and tend to stay with the
old style(it seems to not change!)
Hmmmmmm? Clothing shopping and eating are
chores! Thus I still have to eat(biological)
but clothing shopping I can wait...and wait.....
and........soforth!

I actually psoted this in another thread:
My salesman story: I wrapped myself in my cocoon and went to the market, which has self-checkout. I always use this checkout and the employees that monitor it are familiar with me and leave me alone. On this day I made an error and was in the process of correcting it when an employee came over and began to offer advice. He wouldn't leave even when I said I didn't need help. I couldn't tell you all the things that happened in my head, but what got through to me was "Emergency! Emergency!" and the best thing to do in an emergency is to leave me the ---- alone. Clearly this guy would not have known that and possibly I traumatized him by yelling, "Please go away," over and over, louder and louder until he left.

*giggles* Breaking news: Aspergers may be contagious...

But no one has ever been in physical contact or hugged them long enough to find out!
I HATE being asked by shop assistants if I need help... it makes me feel guilty, like I should be buying something straight away, when mostly I just wanted to look!

i used to be somewhat scared of bying glasses when the stores are mainly small and there are only a few customers so the clerks are just desperate to serve when you wander in... i just hate that. once i went looking for glasses and this woman kept offering me glasses and none of them were what i was looking for and i was trying to be polite and try them on and they looked awful! needless to say i got the hell out of there as fast as i could. i mean is it too much to ask that i choose my own damn glasses?!? then once i found a nice store where noone bothered me and they helped me when i needed it, that's where i bought my first glasses. and they always fixed up my glasses for free when they got bent out of shape or loose, that was niiice. and now i use a big store that has more space so they don't bother me either, though it takes longer to get help there because there are more people there.
i always feel the clerks must think i'm nuts when i'm at the grocery store and pace around and can't make up my mind what to buy... then sometimes i get these phases when i buy the same exact things every day...i wonder if the cashiers remember me and think, "that's that weird girl again, oh and she's got turkey and a huge jugs of carbonated water again..." or "oh she's eating horiible junk food again" or "wow she actually bought fruit this time"... haha i'm just being paranoid.
