And the like...at a major teaching hospital so I can be right there as new technologies emerge. Just thinking about it gets me excited! Yes, yes, I'm going to school for it
I'm a physiotherapist at a major teaching hospital. One of the Consultants (who is Aspie!) is currently researching a lung cancer breath test. It won't be ready for a few years. But when it is, all you have to do is blow into a portable machine and it will detect lung cancer very early! How cool is that!
Siuan, I'll have to get a job in a hospital with you one day. I love working with enthusiastic people.

Wow, awesome job!! !! Yes, enthusiastic people are much more fun to work with. I can't understand when I see people working in a large hospital who seem lethargic and uninterested in their work. I know some people do it just because "it's a job". It's sad to me that there are so many people who feel that way. I'd be quite enthusiatic about getting to work, being at work, and doing my work.
The lung cancer test I'd heard something about recently, and the thought of emerging technologies like that get me pretty excited. When I think of the amazing possibilities on the horizon for better diagnostic reliability, earlier detection and treatment of diseases and innovative people bringing these bright ideas to fruition, I want to be right there as it happens. In every aspect of healthcare, new diagnostic tools and treatments make better, healthier, more fulfilling lives possible for a lot of people. (And the tech part of it - it's like putting a kid in a candy store giving me info like this lol)
Heh, sorry to go on and on. This isn't just my career interest, medicine is also my "special interest". I read medical books for fun
