Yes, mostly to certain games or puzzles

For me it's not so much addiction as much as inability to find anything else that appeals to me. I play video games almost obsessively, but only because I'm waiting for something better to finally come along. Otherwise I can just sit and do nothing for hours, even days at a time.

It's how I function... I live, breathe, think etc. one subject/topic and can find it extremely difficult (if not extremely impossible!) to shift mentally to anything else for a long time.

Every once in a while I find a certain song that I just want to listen to over and over again. The last couple days for me its been a pair of Trans-Siberian Orchestra songs, Christmas Dreams and Wizards in Winter, which happen to be back to back on the CD. I also find it really easy to get songs stuck in my head.

Very few games set off an addiction in me that makes me want to play them for hours at a time, usually my ADD kicks in and I play it for an hour or so, save, and go back to being the forum junkie that I am. I swear I spend more time on gaming forums talking about games, then I do playing them. Probably the game Ive gotten most addicted to when I played it, was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which took me 42 hours to beat the first time, which I did over 5 days straight playing 7-9 hours a day, but when I went back to play it again I just couldn't get into it since I had already played it. I rarely ever play through a game more than once, but certain games are just so good that first time that I just blast through it.

I do that a lot. I'll listen to the same few songs again and again, to relive the thoughts or emotions I had when listening to it. Oddly, each time feels like the first!

An addicting topic.

I like to write so much that there may be some posters here who might not like all my posting. I suppose I have a comment to just about everything I have read. The posts are so interesting.

As for addictive activities, I practice the activity until it plays itself out, unless I want to add it to my indvidual repertoire of interests/behaviours. This applies if I consciously choose the activity. There may be some behaviours that are not done on a conscious level.

I cannot remember all the activities at this time...

Fantasy films, films by Terry Gilliam, films with Johnny Depp, films set in America's past.
Music that connects to me will always be near the top, lyrically or melodically.
Certain tv shows have to have all the information on the internet, ready and waiting to be looked up.
Mortal Kombat, Guitar Hero, Worms, Smackdown vs Raw, Gun, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor
Justice League, Batman, Green Arrow, Superman.

One or two things that get me addicted, anyway...

I get addicted to movies, writing, talking with people. I thrive off of communication, I need it constantly or I get depressed.

Yes, certain food.

For the past month or so, I have been having veggie wedges for brunch everyday. I think this is more a routine that I have developed than an "addiction", though.

Heh, but computers...that is probably my "addiction". I DO get withdrawl symptoms if I don't get to go online at night.
