When we're bored, we are lacking the necessary challenge to inspire us. Don't stay bored, it's depressing and therefore debilitating.

Examine your strengths, if you're AS, then examine what you're hard-wired for and play to that. There's plenty of challenges all around us in the existence, but sometimes we have to challenge ourselves and look for it (that is supposed to be one of our strengths).

For myself, I used to have a boredom problem before I found out not only who but what I was (I'm personally partial to what I hypothesize was our original name, Brahmin)

Now, Brahmin's have duties in this existence, and following one's duty fulfills one, so one doesn't get bored.

My "duty" is that of defending truth; this plays to my hard-wired strengths. I do the best I can at it, knowing that I'll stumble with me tongue from time to time, when I momentarily fail to listen to my heart, and my head goes astray. And, the search for understanding and synthesizing the truth is always an ongoing process, it's a journey, not a destination.

And, being an 'aspie', I, for one, don't find anything boring about defending truth. :D

Are you into TM by any chance John?

It has been boring here lately. I hope it picks up. lots of people away, I think. I'm not here much either, too busy at the moment, trying to sell my house.

This thread is kind of funny to me because I find drama boring. But everyone finds different things entertaining, so I'm not passing judgement or anything.

Actually, I like adventure, such as spelunking, but I don't consider that to be the same thing as drama. I think of drama as something involving extremes of human emotion, whereas adventure is something that produces a rush of adrenal hormones and/or has an unpredictable outcome and/or has the potential to result in death or injury.

Fun adventures:

1) following deer paths through the woods while carrying only basic provisions (water, compass, snack, warm layers)
2) caving
3) driving to a random and remote location without a map (but with basic provisions)
4) looking for wild snakes to photograph (with a snake hook and flashlight)
5) giving any kind of performance

Anyway, back on topic . . . I get bored of the forum sometimes because I see the same things over and over again. But then I try to think of an original new thread to start. And if that doesn't go so well, then I just leave and come back a few days later. If I leave for a few days, I always find something to post about, even if I'm just saying something I've said before.

This place was a lot more interesting when I first came here back in September.

I guess it means I ran out of questions to ask.
