and win?

What is the experience like? Did you represent yourself or did you have legal counsel? Were you ever awarded damages?

Someone is taking me to court right now for a million bucks.

Why?

I created a successful internet business, and made the mistake of selling it to a 65 year old miserable man, that has no idea how to use computers or update a website. He did dozens of things wrong, despite my advice, and ran the business into the ground. He's got money and an ego, so he refuses to believe he was the one who destroyed the business...he needs to believe HE was the victim, because to him, failing a business venture hurts his ego. I think it's an age thing. He's old, not computer savvy, but doesn't want to admit he screwed up.

Anyways, that was almost 2 years ago, and recently he filed suit against me for a mil, claiming fraud.

I'm not worried because I didn't do anything wrong, and being an obsessive aspie, I saved every scrap of evidence which tears his case into shreds. Even my lawyer says my evidence against his lawsuit (which are all lies anyways) is overwhelming, and I will win without a doubt.

It was my bad judgment to sell a tech savvy business to a senior citizen with no computer experience...but I couldn't resist his huge cash offer for the business.

Anyways, it's dragging in court and it's gonna cost me, but my attorney isn't concerned because he's seen a million of these same cases, and he says he's certain I'll win.

Lesson of the story; some people are just a**holes that aren't man enough to admit they screwed up...and in the USA, they will sue you as a last resort i.e. McDonalds coffee case, or the guy that put his RV into "cruise control" and went to the kitchen to make some coffee, and crashed, and sued the RV manufacturer for not stating that "cruise control" doesn't actually drive the car for you.

Some people just blame others, for their own mistakes. Sad actually.

I alrady posted this a time or two but

When I went in to be induced just three days after my due date ((the doctor said it was bad to go over, no other reason)) Well, I was pushed out of L&D because my potassium levels were at 2.1 when 3.5-5.0 are normal. Four days later the levels pecked at 3.2 or so. Without waiting to see if they would remain stable they rushed me to be induced. I wasn't dialated and the baby wasn't in position, and when the broke my water a few minutes after starting the pitocin Rose went into fetal destress. I had to have an emergency c-section, and afterwords I wouldn't stop bleeding. This wasn't because my blood wouldn't clot, it was because the muscle wouldn't contract to stop the bleeding. I had to have an emergency hysterectemy because of it.

I haven't had any need to take someone to court, but I have been on a jury in a civil case. I did file the divorce papers myself through a paralegal service because the marriage didn't last long, and there were no children to fight over. Since my ex-husband signed the papers, there was no need to go to court, which is a good thing because it would have turned nasty as well as expensive as I would have hired an attorney.
