I hate driving. It took me forever to learn, and I avoid it like the plague.

Well i'm 27 and i dont even have a drivers license and i don't think that is even on my to do list, cause I have major anxiety and sound senses, and slow reflexes, so i really don't think i could pass the test due to slow reflexes and sirens, honking scares me and of course I think i would either fall asleep while driving (dont have any energy) and my mind wanders off alot. Also some of my family are bad drivers (and even scared to get into the car while they are driving) and since one of them has the same diagnoses as me, it probably wouldnt be a good idea for me to drive.

Within the past year, I've been rear-ended twice. Once was from a soccer mom paying more attention to her babies in the backseat of her mini-van. Another time was early in the morning where there was a stop sign at the end of a highway onramp (because of construction). I drive through some pretty high-traffic parts of town in my commute.

I think Aspies are good drivers, and very careful drivers. HOWEVER, Aspies don't make much facial expressions, so to an NT passenger, it may appear that you're not paying attention, hence making you look like a bad driver.

For me, I notice a lot of hazards on the road, but I don't say anything or make any facial expressions to show it. An average NT seeing a big pothole will say "HOLY CRAP!" or something like that. For me, I'll look at it for a split second, and drive around it without saying a word or looking twice. I understand why my girlfriend will point it out, thinking I didn't see it.

It's a common problem among Aspies, not just for driving, but for everything else.

I used to be a terrible driver, but then I got a lot better. No accidents/tickets in over 4 years. Though I have been running a lot of red lights lately, especially at night.

I gave up on driving. I don't have a license. It's too overwhelming and I really can't multi-task. I would be a hazard on the road both to myself and others. Also there are too many idiot drivers out there, and I don't want to be a victim of their idiocy because they can't follow the rules.

I tend to speed.

I admit I can't park worth a damn, though.

Is in the UK SirJoeseph, if a cop car catch's you or the motorway cameras, or better yet speeding & not noticing a speed camera & getting an extra bonus of catching you on the phone...

Allot of thing's while driving is now illegal in the uk, & it's a good idea, coz the amount of problems that alone courses is just unbelievable, the most funny & stupid ones that have been court is, people reading the news paper in a truck, & swerving all over the place, & people reading the atlas while driving along, then you got the famous females putting they makeup on with no hands on the wheel... Shocking part is how many black listed people are on the road for insurance & claiming whiplash on impacts that only were going at like 5 mph, hardly a lil dent in the car, I like the ones who knock people's mirrors off & just drive off, funny part the cameras saw it... Then you got people with unsafe loads...

Most shocking thing I seen is a guy on a bike pedal straight through red lights on a 4 way junction, he was bloody lucky....
