You mean, (don't read it if you want to find out for yourself),

"There's a hole in the world like a great black pit
And the vermin of the world inhabit it
And its morals aren't worth what a pig could spit
And it goes by the name of London

At the top of the hole sit a privileged few
Making mock of the vermin in the lower zoo
Turning beauty into filth and greed, I too
Have sailed the world..."

I wouldn't say that all of Sweeny Todd is hilarious. Though, like many have posted before me, some of the lyrics are quite creative, funny, and entertaining. I was very impressed with the creativity in the cinematics. Though, I'm sure that a lot of the ideas came from previous productions of Sweeny Todd. On the other hand, I was very unimpressed with the quality of the singing. Johnny Depp is definitely not a vocalist!

I was struck in particular of how AS Johnny comes off in alot of his roles. That emotionless aloofness. I can feel this man being so lonely inside of himself and grieving to reach out to others, but crippled by the need and unable to do so.

I found it hilarious and sad all at once. I was diasppointed that he didn't kill his daughter in the end. Somehow it made the tragedy a little hollow because she survived. Or is that too ghastly?

I found a lot of humour in the quirkiness of the songs. I also was really charmed by Mrs. Lovett's little waxing nostalgic song. It really struck me that this so "not normal" person was dreaming about such normal things. It was a lot cheesy which made it very funny to me.

I went out and bought the soundtrack. It's pretty much been non stop in my car and on my computer at work. I'm completely fascinated with the soundtrack. My husband is sick of it. He told me that I cannot buy the movie when it comes out on DVD. But you know that I will.

I don't know if he is AS either. I did see him on an Actor's Studio interveiw and he did come off very AS to me. I think the roles that he picks also come out that way. I don't know for sure, but he sure seems AS to me.

I've always been attracted to him because of the roles he plays. I remember way back to Jump Street days, too. Not so much his early early roles, but his roles in the last 10 years or so. The characters that he plays are always outsiders and have an emotional unavailability that seems to mirror my soul and that's what attracts me, I think.

It hasn't been released here yet (it will on Friday, I think). I can't wait to see it.
