I think it just goes to show how much people need to change their outlook. This same thing brings me down as well, I just have to remind myself that I need to try and not be like them and accept what is different.

To say the are 'Telling' you something, to me means they are actively trying to communicate with you.
Perhaps some of the time some people are.

The biggest issue I see in human relations is the idea of 'Rude'.
We have gotten so caught up in the overuse of this term that it is difficult to communicate accurately with each other in social settings.
This is not about AS... this is a common problem in all of society.

Children have it more right than the adults... but the the adults screw it up when they over-teach this concept of 'Rudeness' to the children.

They are trying to actively communicate with you. They're just not using explicit language. What may be vague and uninterpretable to you and others on the spectrum is probably clear as day to most NTs. They're not going to change their idea of "rudeness" because their strategy works well when communicating with people not on the spectrum (aka, most people). It's not possible to get NTs to change the way they interact with NTs - so the best thing to do in this situation is to expand your "social signals" playbook so it incorporates these signals.

I am a rude and stuck up person.
I am quiet and don't say anything because I'm not good at being social. Plus sometimes people say hi to me on my deaf side, and I don't hear them, so they feel dissed. Add to that I cant hear half the conversation in a group... That make me seem stuck up, like I am too good to talk to people.
When I do speak, I often miss, or mistake, or not find the correct social signals for my turn... That makes me rude because I interrupt private conversations or don't know when to shut up and go away.
That is what people tell me later in private conversations. Depending on my mood, I either feel bad, or don't care that I'll never figure it out.
Don't let them get you down.
