I'd have to try it to see if I'd like it. It looks somewhat scary to me. I don't have any need for one either.

What is having a 'meltdown' like? Could you describe it for me? How does it feel, what thoughts go through your head, and are the effects lasting?

Because it appears to restrain. While I like being covered or 'wrapped', I do not like being restrained.

hahaha... the reason i used to mummy wrap myself was because i liked the restrainyness... you cant move if your mummy wrapped hence you are restrained...

i wish i still had the physical ability to do it :(

I don't fancy being put in what looks like a straitjacket. Each to their own I suppose.

Place child on Papoose Board and restrain arms with adjustable Velcro arm straps. Straps slide up or down to accommodate arm length.

Image

Close abdominal flaps. Generous area of Velcro on flaps provide comfortable, positive restraint. Patient is securely controlled.
Image

Now close the leg flaps. The diagonal shape of the board causes the flaps to crisscross and fit snugly. Struggling is discouraged.
Image

Finally, fasten shoulder flaps and head strap. Arms can be extended through the openings in the shoulder flaps if desired.

...i skanned this from instructions i dont know how it would feel to restained in that times i have been in that i have been so freaked out that i would try escape no matter what..exsample when they try to take bloodtest(i hate needles)....usually they restain me in my bed

Indeed... They already told me i MUST Have restraints on mine since i can barely hold myself up hahaha...

the thingy in my avatar is the kind of thingy that will be on my powerchair... thingy a.k.a positioning harness... though it would be kinda cool if there were a mummy wrappy kind of harnessy type thingy for my powerchair hahaha...

though then how the heck would i move my arms to type or drive.. oh well haahaha... ill just sleep like that then hahaha....

its kind of sucky that you have had traumatic experiences with restraint. because you cant apply that calming value to being restrained anymore....

hahaha... then you would probably hate being mummy wrapped since its usually impossible to get out yourself... especially with the mummy restrainy thingy above... i dont mind... though it would be cool to have an electronically controlled mummy restrainy thingy that i could control myself and no one has to help me with... though there had damn well better be a safety limit on tightness since i love pressure so much id kill myself hahaha...
