Yes I do take things personally.

The problem with me is when my boss gets aggravated towards me it is hard for me to interpret whether he really means something that has been building up, whether he has simply said that out of anger because he is simply stressed on the spot or whether he is busting my chops.

In my interpretation, this is one of the big sticking points for people with Asperger's Syndrome.

I used to be very bad at this. I'm better at it now, but I do take life seriously in general. I put this down to the negative experiences I have had IRL and the lack of closure on a lot of issues.

I am able to laugh at myself - which is a critical aspect because I used to be very hard on myself in all aspects. I'm still my own worst critic but I'm not as bad as I was.

There are things that still set me off like a firecracker (there have been a couple of instances of this on this very forum - such as the "cure" issue which I certainly take personally, and the issue of impairment v difference). The reason for this is that I protect my own life very strongly and seriously - and anything seen as interference (even indirectly) makes me jump. There have been people who have sought to take advantage of me in that regard (one of them has been banned twice from Wrong Planet for this) and I won't stand for that.

Nope, I'm oblivious even when people ARE talking directly at me
