I love that Free Rice site. It's very addicting, but it sucks not being able to get past a certain level. Anyway I'm able to select the right word if I know the Latin or Greek roots too. Back when I was really into dinosaurs I learned a lot of Latin and Greek terms, so that helps. Also sometimes I remember the word from a book I've read, or I think of the word within the context of a sentence and I can usually figure it out.

I like that site. A good way to learn new words.

Mostly in the high 30's. Some of the synonyms are a bit dubious, though.

Well, at least spending a few hours trying to improve my score is helping a worthy cause, I suppose.

stupid question, but do they actually COUNT the grains?

I hit 53 but spent most of my time between 48 and 50. I've learned a bit of Latin and a bit of Greek which helps, plus I read voraciously. Om nom nom, books.
