And I'm against gravity keeping me down. Hey, maybe we should meet up and form an 'impossible objectives club?'

It's not impossible to change a person.

It's impossible to change 6billion people in one try or even just 30 people in a class at school in one try, but not at all impossible to inform, to explain and thus provide one person at a time with a better knowledge. Only better knowledge actually provides a basis on which a person can reflect their own behaviour.

Everyone's so found of being able to speak, so they might as well make good use of it from time to time. For example, I've started giving around papers from the NAS of the UK (just because their infos are short but good). Before that, they wanted to say autism is just some psychological issue - now they know better, one person at a time.

But of course, I don't feel bad about using medical terms, using such words as 'disability'. I'm keen on presenting the bright side along with the diversity, all these aspects I am aware of that currently describe what 'autism' means to all kinds of people.

I'm not a great talker or anything, I get in trouble all the time, but nonetheless I find it rather easy to inform and explain about autism.

I'm Daniel the human who so happens to have an ASD.

My "official" label is autistic disorder, but it's only a label that explains some things I do that are different to the majority (1 in a thousand or so). I'm no less a human than those without an ASD, and they're no less human than I am.

Saying I'm an autistic individual is offensive to me, I'm human first; whatever neurological disorder I do or don't have doesn't make me less of a human (or more of one, or a "special" and unique one).

I don't care what I am called, as long as it isn't "ret*d".
Most people don't call me anything...

A valid question topic

If those are the choices, I will pick the first. It is correct.

I prefer not to be labeled and thought of as an autistic. I want to be thought of as a person, just like everyone else. I'm a little different, so what? I'm still a person.

However, if I had to chose I would prefer to be refered to as "Autistic" of "aspie."

I'm fine with just my name, and I don't tell people about my mental state.

"I am autistic" is like "I am gay" to me. "I am a gay person" or "I am a homosexual person" doesn't seem to be common or necessary. But other people usually say "That's Cas" to explain the way I am, and that's fine with me, and it comes with less baggage and less need to explain than other labels do.

I'm an aspie. I have Asperger's. I have a form of autism. I'm on the autism spectrum.

Call me autistic if you like but I don't feel that way.
