Talking on the phone is probably one of the worst things in regards to communication.

I hate talking over the phone, although I can't figure out a logical reason for disliking it... I just do.

Strange how that worked out isn't it?

I'm best at it if it's someone I don't know, and I like to call to ask questions at businesses, but I don't like to have people call for me personally or if I don't know what will be said. Phones let sounds through less clearly and they have separate background noise so they're harder to figure out what's being said if I don't know already. When other people call I always have to ask them to repeat themselves, and when they get annoyed I stop asking but still didn't understand, so they think they've transmitted information but it wasn't received. And I don't like long calls because I can't pay attention only with my hearing for very long.

I don't think it's bad overall. I don't have a phobia which I think my family members do, I just don't like to talk when I know that we won't understand each other or won't listen properly and will only end up frustrated. Especially if it was supposed to be "a friendly chat" to help a relationship stay working properly, it's counter-productive.

I absolutely detest talking on the phone. I don't know what to say or when to do it. When I do manage to talk, it always seems to be when the other person has just started to speak too.
Ugh...
