I'm Dx'd with both AS and inattentive-type ADD.

I have self diagnosed myself with ADHD. I don't think I have aspergers, though not sure.

I have intense hyperfocus and think intensely about things, but I have trouble concentrating on more than one thing at a time.

Also I am hypoactive which is the opposite of hyperactive. Which makes me slower than an average person.

My brain is constantly thinking about things non stop, going from one idea to the next. That's ADD you have trouble with attention. But say if I start thinking about something that really interests me, something really interesting I start thinking intensely about that, because it is so interesting I can't think of anything else(that's where the hyperfocus kicks in). But if I find something boring I will start thinking about something else very quickly and go right off track.

I know that I have Asperger's but I think that there's also a possibility that I might have ADHD, as well. I can't seem to stay in one spot, unless I'm on the Internet, or out with my friends.

have any of you guys been made fun of just because you have AS and ADHD?

No...i have been made fun of for my odd/akward behavior...i dunnow...that might count...
I have a funny voice that sometimes gets made fun of too.

There are plenty ADD naysayers out there....who think that ADD is a product of our culture and the pharmaceutical companies and whatnot...but they don't know what it was like growing up with the kinds of problems I had as a child.

I get teased about the Aspie board by my boyfriend who does not think I am an aspie...bu i think he is too close to the spectrum to really speak himself...

But not specificly made fun of for having AS and ADD....I am only diagnosed with ADD

i have aspergers but one of my older friends has adhd

I was erroneously diagnosed as hyperactive when I was five years old. I believe Asperger's more accurately describes me. I was very active as a child, but also very focused in academic areas of my life. I believe hyperlexia could also describe me, as I was able to read at a fifth grade level in first grade, even though English was a second language for me.

I have ADHD and Aspergers

all symptoms i have fall within ADD or asperger's. mostly in ADD. fast acting ADD meds mediate my inability to hold focus when it is needed, but dont ameliorate my asperger's type symptoms. it is my understanding that the two go hand in hand fairly often.

i am right with you on that one about the ADD meds!

They help out alot, but do nothing for the ASish symptoms.

I have ADD and an autistic spectrum disorder (NLD -- similar to Asperger's.. I was told that I would have been diagnosed with Asperger's by another clinic instead of NLD, since they don't give out that diagnosis because it isn't in the DSM yet). I don't have the intense obsessions.. I have had a number of interests though that border on obsessive, but not to the extent that I loose alot of sleep over it..

I was told that NLD involves problems with the right hemisphere of the brain and that ADD (ADHD) involves the front part of the brain? I don't know if that's true or not though.. I was thinking of getting Neurofeedback...

Has anyone tried neurofeedback for ADHD or AS?
