I think the difference between a stim and a tic is i think tic's aren't controllable. You can learn to control a stim, by replacing it with a different one, cognitively suppressing it, that kind of stuff. A tic is uncontrollable, you can't to the aforementioned things to change it.

Again I'm not 100% sure. Someone like Age1600 or Tourettebassist( who have Tourette's) might know for sure the difference.,

I find that I stim most when I have to be perfectly (physically) still. Sometimes this is a problem, as when trying to be un-noticed. Since my stim-of-choice involves only fingers, this is not too much of a problem, usually.

im the OP so i thought id say what my stim is now that i know what it is
i my leg shakes alot when im sitting
i doodle alot
and sometimes i chew on the top front part of my shirt




its a cotton ball 8O KILL IT :twisted:
