For the most part in my life, I understand where you guys are coming from- until recently, I've never been appreciated for my hard work; basically, most NTs that I've noticed want you to, well, do things the way everyone else does them.

But you've got a special gift- use it to your advantage. I finally work at a job where I'm HIGHLY appreciated....at the same time, I'm still working to get my own career off the ground. I think I can do it better than the current leading brand- and I will. :)

I come across a similar issue. It isn't that people don't appriciate my work. In fact I get lots of compliments... Just I have no idea how to get the ball rolling so I can get something published. Part of it seems to be the people around me are just as clueless as I am how to get it done. People can tell me the steps involved, but unless they can physically get me started and walk me through the process...I am kind of in limbo...

PS: with the original poster it could be the church people, not the fact they are "NT". It's my guess that strict religious people will have moral issues against things dealing with science and other religions/ gods. Those occur quite commonly with sci-fi.

If your idea conflicts with someone's ideal, then they likely will either tune you out or they will try to get their point across to change your idea tosmething moresuitable.

Think about it this way: If you write something about evolution and present it in front of a bunch of creationists... They're not gonna be impressed! They will want you out...

But if you show your stuff to scientists, then they may be impressed, or at least interested. It's a matter of who you share your ideas with.
