A troll is someone making a post simply to engender argument, debate, or some problem. They are little better than a spammer who makes a lot of posts(Either 1 to many, many to 1, or many to many) that serve no purpose to the site(s) they are posted on, and that are unwanted by others.

I think his post was pretty ironic when viewed from the context of this site. Many people come here because they are tired of feeling "unique" which in a society that loves conformity=negative. Most people seem to respnd to the threads of people who they think share similiar traits and this makes us less unique. It appears to me that w share a very basic human desire to "fit" somewhere and we reinforce that by sharing our similiar traits.

The OP on the other hand...was the person who desired to be "unique" for no purpose other then a need for attention and that is actually pretty sad. How many of us need attention so desperately (and have no other productive hobbies/interests) that we maste our time on such activities..(OK, I know there are a few here, but very few compared to most sites).

Sounds like the idiot's from that hate group FAAAS. His/her not being able to use proper spelling and punctuation also adds to the case.

It's a well-known term. I first became acquainted with the term around ten years ago on the scifi.com boards- they often have trolls popping in to say they hate [whatever] show the board is for.
