i do too. but my family gets idk, like not mad or annoyed, they just seem to look down on it. especially my dad...

I do most of mine secret. Putting aside others reactions, I have learned that for me to really get into it, I need to be alone otherwise I get distracted to easily... and that just aggravates the situation even more.

It seems for the most part, that the less I have people around me, the better off I am. At least with NT's.... not sure on AS'ers.

Same here, especially when I don't have a specific physical activity to occupy my time. Right now, for the past sixs months since joining WP, I've paced a lot more than typically, as I'm going over my whole life to re-understand things from this newer perspectivel; should keep me busy pacing for quite a while!

Fortunately, the kids are out a lot, and I have the garage to stand around (do that a lot too,) and pace around in. I think right now my time is about half pacing, half standing in one place at the garage counter. Meditating in one spot or "on the fly".

I pace sometimes, not too often though.

It's mainly when I'm anxious.

Yes, whenever I can.

I like to pace when I am stressed about anything - its comforting

I pace a lot, it's a form of stimming.

NTs also pace while thinking, at least if Donald Duck comics are to be believed...

P.S. I couldn't find a picture of Donald Duck, but here is one of Quick in "Quick et Flupke":

I'll pace when I get really mentally simulated by something. Maybe even talk to myself a bit too. Just like a stim I suppose.

I pace when I'm on the phone
And when I'm nervously excited

Oh yeah... I shake alot too. This is considered stimming, right? Once I was waiting in the emergency room for my grandma, and I overheard nurses talking about stimming, then discussing if I would understand the metaphor of a donut shaped cushion my grandma had to sit on... they were afraid I would make her sit on a real donut. They took like 5 minutes explaining the concept to me not believing me when I said I understood... and typed donut in quotes on the paper just in case.

 That is so funny about the donut. I have had similar experiences in the ER when I had to answer routine questions. Once the triage nurse asked "Do you ever think about hurting yourself or others?" After mulling over the question a bit I said "No." My daughter who was with me and the nurse began laughing. The nurse said "Had to think about it, huh?"

Back to the original topic. Yes, I pace a lot. Mostly when stressed, anxious, worried, waiting, thinking. Back and forth, back and forth. It's a lot like rocking which I also do.

I still pace occasionally when anxious, although prefer to take myself for a full-blown walk if I can. When I was a child I used to walk round in circles to music. When I got older I continued this (even though my room was tiny), listening to the radio at night. I sort of found it helped my concentration, particularly when revising for exams - I couldnt just sit there and revise I had to pace round and round until I was exhausted. It pretty much stopped when I started working full time (and living with a boyfriend) and now I dont do it so much.
