I dont have any helpful tips... Mom used to tell me i should be like "normal" kids and go hang out somewhere. But i never had anywhere to go/or anywhere i wanted to go, so how could i?

My tip is to get a dog. If you like them of course. I thought of this once, and i figured... Ive always loved animals, and i would go out and walk the dog for the dogs sake, even if i myself didnt really want to. And you will meet other dog owners as well, and you have a common interest, dogs ;) Maybe that helps a little, it was the best thing i could think of anyway...

I can't answer the "when" part but most local papers have volunter jobs lissted in a section of the "want adds".

What about getting a paid job ? Thre are many part time jobs that might work around your free hours. There are several jobs being CNA where you go into peoples house and help them with things and you can pick your own hours. I also belong to an on-line job finder called "care.com" that people who need someone to babysit, animal care or clean...can apply to whatever fits their schedule. The only cost is a "back ground check" for yourself...I think about $20. Something to think about when you start college to. A few jobs there are full time but most are just a few hours a week. There are also probably "pet sitting" companies in your area that would also let you work what ever hours you want and you get to take peoples animal to pet parks and play with them.

I have a job at Subway but am looking for a better one.

Thanks, but I already have a dog. Maybe I could consider something that involves animals outside the house.

Horseback riding? Buying a farm? Maybe take on a job as a dogwalker for others? Working at a Zoo? I guess there are several things you can do with animals outside the house. I always loved visiting Zoos, ive always been an avid animal lover. Maybe you can take someone to a Zoo and just enjoy yourself? That sounds like a nice way to spend a day to me atleast. But then again, you might think differently :)
