Any song written by "They Might Be Giants" reminds me of Aspergers. The lyrics sound like my son talking.

How about "Highly Illogical" by Mr Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy. (I apologise in advance.)

"From far beyond the galaxies I've journeyed to this place
To study the behavior patterns of the human race
And I find them ... highly illogical"

Planet Earth- DEVO because it is told from the perspective
of someone who is alien to the planet yet the lyric appears,
"I've lived all my life...on Planet Earth."

I Don't Care- Ramones
Eleanor Rigby- I forgot who sings this.

Bruce Springsteen -- "Human Touch"

You and me we were the pretenders
We let it all slip away
In the end what you dont surrender
Well the world just strips away
Girl, aint no kindness in the face of strangers
Aint gonna find no miracles here
Well you can wait on your blesses my darling
I got a deal for you right here
I aint looking for praise or pity
I aint coming round searching for a crutch
I just want someone to talk to
And a little of that human touch
Just a little of that human touch

Aint no mercy on the streets of this town
Aint no bread from heavenly skies
Aint nobody drawing wine from this blood
Its just you and me tonight
Tell me, in a world without pity
Do you think what Im askin for is too much
I just want something to hold on to
And a little of that human touch
Just a little of that human touch

Oh girl that feeling of safety that you prize
Well it comes at a hard hard price
You cant shut off the risk and the pain
Without losing the love that remains
We're all riders on this train

So youve been broken and youve been hurt
Show me somebody who aint
Yeah, I know I aint nobodys bargain
But, hell, a little touch up and a little paint...
You might need something to hold on to
When all the answers, they dont amount to much
Somebody that you could just to talk to
And a little of that human touch
Baby, in a world without pity
Do you think what Im askin for is too much
I just want to feel you in my arms
Share a little of that human touch
Feel a little of that human touch
Give me a little of that human touch

Actually, Frontalot has a song called You've Got Asperger's Kid as well. Lyrics: http://www.lyricsmania.com/lyrics/mc_fr ... 09314.html

To the poster above you: Gary Numan *is* popular in my local aspie community, and as far as we know he was an aspie himself :) He has some very cool songs.

The German band Welle:Erdball has very aspie-themed songs as well, like Lass Uns Ein Computer Sein (Let Us Be A Computer), or Wir Wollen Keine Menschen Sein (We Don't Want To Be Humans Anymore)... these two are aspie-related, but all their song are awesome I think. They sing about thalidomide kids, the Illuminati, robots, and the future... they're kind of the Kraftwerk of the new century :) And they use a C64 soundsystem. Ahh my!

Rush - "Open Secrets"

It went right by me,
At the time it went over my head -
I was looking out the window,
I should have looked at your face instead.
It went right by me,
Just another wall -
There should have been a moment
When we let our barriers fall -
I never meant what you're thinking,
That's not what I meant at all...

Well, I guess we all have these feelings
We can't leave unreconciled,
Some of them burned on our ceilings,
Some of them learned as a child,
The things that we're concealing
Will never let us grow,
But Time will do its healing,
You've got to let it go

Closed for my protection,
Open to your scorn -
Between these two directions
My heart is sometimes torn;
I lie awake with my secrets
Spinning around my head,
Something that somehow escaped me,
Something you shouldn't have said -
I was looking out the window,
I should have looked at your face instead...

Well, I guess we all have these feelings
We can't leave unreconciled,
Some of them burned on our ceilings,
Some of them learned as a child,
The things that they're concealing
Will never let us grow,
But Time will do its healing,
You've got to let it go,
Let it go...

I find no absolution
In my rational point of view -
Maybe some things are instinctive,
But there's one thing you could do -
You could try to understand me,
I could try to understand you,
You could try to understand me,
I could try to understand you...

You could try to understand me
I could try to understand you.

Why must this topic have mostly depressing songs? How about songs that celebrate the positive aspects of being autistic?

The Siamese Cat Song (We Are Siamese, If You Please)

If I had to pick an REM track it would have to be The Wrong Child from the Green album.

Andy Kaufman was actually autistic

Quite funny. I have had that song going around in my head for about the past 3 months.
