I do the same thing. I over think my comments and often scrap more posts that I have spent time writing than I actually submit.

I don't think it is Asperger's that causes me to do this, but I believe it is the result of living with Asperger's. In other words, someone with Asperger's may misinterpret others and have their communications misinterpretted, leading to negative feedback. I want to avoid negative feedback and will over analyze my communications and won't share what I have written unless I get comfortable enough with the communication and the expected reactions.

It happens a lot to me. I'm a freelance proofreader, which means I should be used to check and check again whether a text is well written. When posting I don't check too much; only to make sure that I used proper capitalization and punctuation. But I'm also an amateur novelist, and the urge to make every paragraph perfect is exhausting.

Perhaps it's not a universal aspie trait. My aspie special interest is grammar, so I guess it's more to do with my individual peculiarites.
