The only time I am obsession-free is when I am deeply depressed. I think I am happiest when I have a new obsession and I am in that "learn everything you can" mode. :) Last year I got obsessed with Lizzie Borden and I must have read 20 books about her case. I really enjoyed that...

Then some of my obsessions have been lifelong...Tudor history is a permanent obsession with me.

Obseesion shouldn't be confused with Passion. Everyone is passionate about something, and using that term makes us more alike than different. It also helps create understanding.

The term obssession seems to refer to one who is disordered in thinking, and incapable of thinking of anything else. Obsession usually is a more negative term.

Just my opinion, and I mean no offense :)

My passion is computers :)

I call something an obsessions when you start letting other things willingly suffer for it.

My main obsessions have always been sports-oriented, mostly martial arts (currently MMA). I need them though to keep a modicum of structure and social contact in my life and to get a least some responsibilities done.

Without it my life comes crashing down.

I've never been without an obsession, because all of my obsessions are life-long. But, when I'm going through a period where the intensity of the obsession dies down and I no longer have the need to ramble on and on about the subject, I do feel bored and sort of depressed.

Most of my current interests have been ones I have had for a long time. My interest in Roger Bannister is probably an outgrowth of an interest in the Olympics and running that I have had since the 1980s, when I first got into the Olympic Games in a big way.

I have loved animals all my life.

I've never been without an obsession, and I think I would go absolutely crazy if I tried to make myself stop. Sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy because I have too many obsessions going on at once.

My love for Hellsing and Trinity Blood has been going on for nearly two solid years, with no signs of stopping whatsoever; though I have picked up other obsessions similar to them on the side.
