I'd also like a tiger and a Norwegian Forest Cat.

OMG an octopus would be so fun in fact I just remembered a dream where I had a pet octopus. I wonder can you teach an octopus to play fetch??

Octopi are really smart too. But sadly have a short lifespan of around 5 years.

i want a pet octopus too! i think you can keep brown octopuses pretty well. i heard of someone keeping a blue-ring but I seriously don't understand why you'd want to do that....unless you are keeping it strictly for looking at and never plan on sticking your hands in the tank 8O

I love my rat terrier, Josie. Her feet smell like popcorn.

I am going to miss her when I move to my school next week.

Must say snakes. A calm snake wrapping around your arm is about the most relaxing sensation ever. They are so strong, their temperature usually so cool, their breath is a very gentle sound.

And if anyone wants to know what the best snake is, well, I have some advice on that, too....

I've had dogs my whole life. I am NOT a dog person. I want a meerkat but they are illegal here and everyone I ask basicaly just insults me and says it's not a good idea for someone who knows practicaly everything about them (from reading books and anything BUT Meerkat Manor) shouldn't have one becuase they don't have a degree. I wish I could have a tiger or something big (bigger than your dumb dogs) and intimating.

I have a cat, it's so cute, but it's some months I've been thinking of taking an Alaskan Malamute. Anyone owns or has owned one ? Thoughts, advice ? I know he needs a lot of attention, so I when I take him I want to be sure I can give him all the attentions needed...maybe in a few months.

EDIT: I would love to have a squirrel, but it would be SO cruel to own one in a cage, I could NEVER do that. One year ago I bought 2 parrots but I left them fly away after one month, I couldn't stand seeing them in that cage :( As for the squirrel I will be happy when I see one in the woods

I had a dog Molly she was half Alaskan Malamute part chow and some other stuff anyways she chewed everything up when she was three years old. It was horrible she even layed down and chewed on our deck and the trees in the front yard. So if you get a pure breed Alaskan Malamute get ready for hell.

Also spudnik it is odd really odd because pure white cats shouldn't cause an allergic reaction are you sure your allergic to the fur and dander like most people?

A small New World constrictor would probably be the best choice.

Indigo, king snakes are great in captivity, but don't wrap well.

I've always wanted a fox. I don't think I'll ever be able to own one, but I've always wanted one. I get along well with cats at least.

I'm not into boas, they freak me out. Their eyes. Plus, I had a Dumerils, it was mean.
I would recommend an African House snake, female, adult. Or a Madagascar speckled hognose, again, female, adult. The like to travel though, and burrow into things like your armpit. Which is freaky, because they are very mildly rearfanged venomous. The madhog never tried to bite, not even hungry.

Pythons are great, I've just never bonded with one.
And I've never had the good fortune to handle an Indigo, the native ones are illegal to keep where I live, and the Texas ones are rare.

Cat allergy's are the same for all cat's regardless of coloration, don't make me explain my allergy's to you, because you obviously don't understand how dangerous they are to me.

Most people who are allergic to cats are allergic to the saliva, and since cats lick themselves, it gets on their fur, skin, and shed skin cells. The color of the fur has nothing to do with anything.

I do like cats, and would always bring a new pet kitten home, as a kid, but I always ended up in the hospital on a ventilator.
My allergy was so bad, my throat would swell shut, and my skin would blister up, where the cat is came in contact to my skin.
So there is absolutely no way I would hold a white cat.

Other cat variations

It appears that female cats shed substantially lower amounts of allergen than males, and a neutered male sheds significantly less than a full male tom. In 2000, researchers at the Long Island College Hospital found that cat owners with dark-colored cats were more likely to report allergy symptoms than those with light-colored cats. A later study by the Wellington Asthma Research Group indicates that hair color has no effect on how much allergen a cat produces.

I've always wanted some type of reptile, arachnid or amphibian, but my parents and my two sisters who think they know what I can and cannot eat with braces won't let me have one.
