I am not and do not totally disagree with you, but you did say you agreed 100% with "Inventor" which I do not, so was just stating my point.... no offense intended..

Its just I guess at times I feel the more people try to help, the more others want to attack and use as a punch bag for there own frustrations... this does not include you I know we all need to listen and learn from each other...

I do agree with him 100% and you are understood also.

Tony the Phony is a FRAUD!

The only person he is out to help is himself.

He jumps on every bandwagon, such as Cassandra Syndrome, from a cheap screw and tell book about how it was all his fault. That was not Science, it was one woman's desire to justify marrying a man, and blaming taking him for everything, on him, and Tony continues the myth.

Tony did not know that we were not all mentally ret*d?

He makes it sound like he discovered Asperger's Syndrome, when his own words show he never read Asperger or Kanner, yet he has Degrees?

No amount of patches from his publisist can cover the fact that he has been exploiting and spreading myths just like Autism Speaks does.

We have problems with the researchers who attempt Science, and then publish, based on a study of three hand picked cases. Tony gets his information from watching TV.

He is a self professed Expert. He is a teacher in a third rate college, a Professor, who started an Autism Clinic.

The problem is he claims to be the great Attwood, the Autism Expert, then spews forth myths and half truths, that will be taken as fact.

His self promotion is making things worse for us, and he is feeding on the confusion.

Donna Williams is a view from the inside, and an example of taking what she had, and becoming a world famous Painter, Writer, and Musician.

Jen Birch has a very practical approach to just living and getting through the problems of life we are a bit blind to. New Zealand does seem to have support services, an understanding of Autism, and accomidation. It is first person, this is the road I walked, perhaps my story will help others.

Where I live, the Southern United States, there is nothing, except what is shown on TV. The Hype, Explotation, and plain hate is always more news worthy than truth.

At the suggestion of Donna Williams we have started a Dinner Group of High Functioning Adults, we are mostly business owners, well educated, and our relationship with the world is being shown as, we are different, and we have skills, our best is, We Are Problem Solvers.

We are applying that outside of the box thinking to the problems of other people in business.

New Orleans is a special case, since the flood we have lost half the population, one third of the houses stand in ruins, people are still leaving, and long established business is having a hard time.

We have all had to develop new ways of doing things, and the Autistic are leading the way.

Not being atached to the status quo, we do well in disasters. Just another day in Aspie Land.

To reinvent the business, it is not just the store, but getting more people to the shopping center, twenty stores, for getting them in the parking lot, they will spend money somewhere.

Faced with losing everything they have, different thinking is accepted.

They did always think us strange, but were tolerant. Now we are being useful, more accepted, and defining our relationship with the group.

Tony Attwood says they are not all ret*ds, some of them are only part ret*d.

Taking ret*d as not knowing what you say, Tony is ret*d.

We cannot mention Autism, for Autism Speaks and Tony Attwood have poisoned that word.

I was just trying to help you poor suffering ret*ds, it would be better if you were never born.

This point of view does not help my business consulting.

We are in our 60's, long term business owners, and have seen enough to know that many business owners, people with particular skills, are Autistic, and have made a good life from "Our Disorder", "Our Disability", as Attwood sees it.

We have a lifetime of dealing with salesmen, hucksters, con men, and Tony fits the profile.

He is selling something, but does not know the facts, or misrepresents them.

He is a psychobabbling pill pusher. His business is a fraud.

We on the other hand have done this for a long time, made it work, and can help our fellows who were not blessed with special powers. We were doing it before Tony got his first Degree in being social and conning everyone.

We are judged by one thing, results. Our stuff works, we bring in the money, will aid our fellow business people, and have built a trust based on performance.

Tony says we have that Autism disease, and he can treat us for being ret*ds.

He is attacking my business credibility, I am attacking his.

I just want to help him to quit being such a ret*d.

Student, then teacher, then Clinic owner. He never had a real job.

He is a press release with nothing behind it. He chose Autism because it is incurable, so he does nothing for a living, but drug children.

I think he is harming the children.

I do not think he is helping the parents.

As adults, he is harming our relationship with others, Cassandra Syndrome.

Tony, Autism Speaks, and Rainman have caused me problems.

Lets see, all NT, all making money off of a cultural ripoff, not caring what the lies they spread do to real people with lives.

At one in 150, there are 3,000,000 of us in the United States. We do not live in group homes.

From field study, I think the numbers are much higher, and near total among Inventors.

In the skilled trades, I find a lot of Autism.

This whole idea of a mental disease, a disability, only helps the psychobabbling pill pushers, they have found something to feed on.

Before their trash talk, we were the inventors, the new business developers, product creators, and produced the income and jobs that go with it. We were also the Writers, Painters, Musicians, that defined the whole culture.

Now we are discredited as Rainman.

Tony has made his reputation by slandering ours.

"He who steals my purse steals trash, but he who steals my name, takes something that is of no use to him, and everything to me."

Inventor has the gist of it,

Tony Attwood is out to satisfy everyone, and by doing so, he walks on the very people he wishes to help in his various writings/speeches. If you read a piece by him for "aspies", you'll see something that's tailored to that audience, but then, he'll turn around and demonize the same "aspies" as emotionless men [and a few women] that drive their wives [and a few husbands] to their own mental disorder due to a lack of emotion when he speaks to said wives/few husbands, and that it's the fault of the "aspies", and they need emotional and social therapy that he so happily provides (objectively, the fault lies with both sides).

He says some good things [that sells books and promotes his clinic at West End], and some bad things [that fill the halls and same clinic].

I think I get what your all saying and he is one of the speakers at the next conference I am going to. Maybe I should print this thread off and see if he has any commets, could be interesting!
