That would creep me out too. Eyes anywhere creep me out, including beads that look like eyes. A friend has a bracelet with beads like this and it scares the hell out of me.

Though Claire, I kind of like your avatar.

Does that mean you won't be happy if I put up a photo of my nose for my avatar?

Hahaha, I was going over this thread again and I just remembered something I did and I want to share it. OKay, you all are going to think I am really extremely weird (if you think that already be ready to think it even more after reading what I am about to type)
Okay. It's about something I made. I bought some stuff at this craft outlet. LOL some plastic eyes (white with black centers that move) some pipe cleaners in orange, green, purple and yellow, some pom poms in the same colors, and some glue. I can't stop giggling as I type this because this is so like something my goofy, eccentric ass would do. And I did it.
So what I did was make something that looked like a tree by bunching all the pipe cleaners together and twisting them to form the trunk, then seperating them to form the tree branches. I then glued the wiggle-eyes to the pom poms, waited for them to dry some, then glued the pom-pom eyes to each branch end. SO I had a tree with a bunch of eye pom poms all over it. ALL these eyes just staring...staring...staring....
And I took the eye tree and put it in a martini glass filled with clear, glass marbles.
Now this is the funny part. I put this work of art in the car and I took it someplace, and put it on the doorstep of a random house. So the people would find it in the morning and think:

"WHAT THE f**k IS THAT!?!?! !?! !?"

Now you might think I am totally derranged and weird but I only did this one time and I do sincerely hope that whomever found my gorgeous work of art appreciated the time, thought, and genuine effort that went into creating it:)
Mind you, I only did this one time because afterwards I questioned my sanity just a wee bit then thought it would be a bad idea to continue on this coarse.

lol, that seems a harmless prank as long as you didn't put it on the doorstep of a psychotic or paranoid person.

It might be fun to do that to a professor and attach a note "Never forget. eyes are watching you every time you teach" lol :D

I don't like to look at the pictures of eyes or faces displaying intense emotions. I can't help it - because I have AS, eyes and emotions make me uncomfortable.

But I think that for almost everyone, there is some type of image that makes them uncomfortable, often without any obvious explanation.

For example, many do not like to look at pictures of insects. I, on the other hand, would much rather see a pictures of some larvae than a picture of a pair of sad or angry eyes.

My point is that it's obviously a personal thing, and I would much rather use my ad-block software than criticize other people's choices of avatars.

There was a time I didn't like looking into human faces, especially of someone I had a crush on but one of my obsessions at one point were the strange, seemingly random look the eyes of spiders have. I was also fascinated by Charlie Brown's Halloween costume as a youth.

Above the image of one Jumping Spider...

doesn't this remind you of a *ufo* flying saucer with legs? *very* hairy legs.
