Yeah, and it's really strange. I don't sound like I think I sound, and I'm way less animated than I thought I was.

I was 20 when I was videotaped. I had this swagger, instead of a walk. I wonder if I still swagger, today. That would actually be cool, with the way that I like to present myself. 8)

I haven't been game to watch any video of myself, though some exist. Most were filmed at my mother's (embarassment ahead) Linedance socials.
Mum said I looked stupid when she watched it back :( but I know why she said it. Most of my arm and hand gestures look awkward and goofy.

One time a friend from high school made a video of me with her cell phone and sent it to me. She was sweet, so I don't think she was doing it to be mean, but I was shocked. My movements were rigid,my arms movements were strange, I leaned to one side while I was sitting, and it was generally not how I feel or see myself at all.

Lately, I have been one of those compulsive YouTube video posters....so I am pretty used to what I look like on vodeo...but it is still pretty strange..I don't think I am as in touch with just how akward I really am....but allthe videos seem pretty consistant...I am rocky and stimmy and childlike...

I had some friends years ago who liked to bring their video camera to parties...and they thought I was this strange younger person and they enjoyed filming my uncomfortable strangeness and they showd me some of the films and commented that I seemed more like a little forest creature than a human...Franky, I think they suspected that I was schizophrenic...

I hate seeing myself on video and I really HATE HATE HATE the sound of my voice. Its funny how you dont notice how your voice sounds while you are using it but when its played back to you or echoed in you darn cell phone its just horrible.

How I see myself topic

I have been on video twice in my life (not counting closed circuit security camera) and I basically looked wooden. The first was voiceless (I was in a Toronto TV studio in 1975, dancing to some sort of Motown music and I looked out-of-step and completely out of my element. There was no cost and there was one close-up of my doing what looks nowadays like a Happy Dance  ). The second time was a video recorded for seeing how I presented myself in a job interview in 2001. My voice sounded like a monotone and i sat completely still, except for the odd stim. No smiling or eagerness. Figures.

Yes. The neighbor's daughter talked me into letting her play with my camquarter. She wanted to make her own version of MTV Cribs featuring me. I never realised I was so fat until I saw her tape. I look like the sterotypical mentaly chalanged person. My voice dosen't help at all. I hate the sound of it and hate the way I look. I used to look like a fashion model but that all changed when a medication I was on made me puff up. But my face. My beautiful face. How did it get so round and puffy all of a sudden?

Going through teacher's school, we had to video ourselves and then critique the viddy. This was awful for me because I'm a great teacher, but the viddy camera makes me instantly turn into Sponge"liverbird" Stick-teacher. It's terrible. The same thing happens when people viddy my presentations. If I know about it, I start paying attention to all sorts of things like how I'm breathing, blinking, talking, using my hands, etc. Then I just look stupid. It's awful. If I don't know, though, it's okay.

Definitely. On a couple of occasions - a party or a church camp - people have had video cameras, and shortly afterwards I've seen the video played back, and been utterly horrified.

I love how my voice sounds on a tape recorder, but my posture in video is a nightmare. The first time I saw myself in video was about three years ago, at a funeral service. We all were supposed to be standing still, but I was so stiff I looked like a bodyguard. I walked as a nutcracker soldier toy, and my fingers kept self-stimming all the time. It was creepy.

I was at the dentist awhile back and I was so stiff laying back in the chair trying to make it through. I thought I was managing until the hygenist ask if I was ok, because I looked so uncomfortable

I hate it as well as candid photos and I'm not a big fan of voice recordings...so with video what I do is emphasize whats already there, a lot. Change my voice on purpose to be crazy, and over-react to everything. So I'll probably never be serious on video, but its fun :)

Don't mean to offend anyone, but every time I see myself on video, I think "Gosh, I look like a ret*d." =/ Or hear myself talking.

I'm okay hearing myself singing, though...I have to sing from my throat a little a bit to get anything I find satisfactory, though ;)
