I don't have Asperger's, so my opinion is meaningless in this regard, but I don't really understand how it could be that offensive. People with other conditions have it a lot worse; schizophrenics are often portrayed as violent psychotics and people with tourettes are consistently made out to be angry swearing lunatics. The "ass-burgers" joke doesn't even concern the condition or people with it, it just pokes fun at the word it's self.

That's why I don't see it as a big deal, they're making fun of the word, not the people with the condition.

Couldn't agree more, its hilarious. Up my low based sense of humor alley :)

Depends on the context.

Asperger might be the Austrian surname equivalent to "Smith," but it sure is inconveniently prone to low-brow suggestion in English, huh?

I hate the word "asperger's". I heard my psychologist pronouce it before I'd ever seen it in text form. Whomever decided to give that name to something which we struggle with, is either naive or mean. I want to mix feces into ground beef and serve it to them with pickles and onions. "Yes, it's like a hamburger, but it comes from someone's ass. Enjoy!"

I used it myself to lighten the mood, but I say it as 'Aspurjurs' anyway.

The joke is only funny if you differentiate the original "P" as a "B"

Ass purgers ...

I don't think they pronounce the "P" as a "B" so a lame joke. I prefer to call the Nintendo "Wee" "W2"

I don't care for the joke.

I wear my tee shirt with the stick guy with a hamburger on his ass. It amuses me.

I'm not an aspie (although I have the symptoms) when I thought I was aspie that upset me greatly, worse still it was my sister joking about it...

I just wish someone with a cooler-sounding name discovered it. .___.
