How exactly did you get evaluated. I mean, what did they do? A test? I'm just curious as to what the protocol of testing is. What tye pf questions? Sorry if I'm prying. :D

LOL, no, not prying! not at all! it's open information!

here, take this test and answer honestly.

http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/9.12/aqtest.html

it was the exact same one I took at the psychologist's evaluation.

tests like that offend me cause they ask stupid crap like whether or not i am SPECIFICALLY fascinated by license plates and dates

you know, Sedaka, that in itself is pretty Aspie. . .

has nothing to do with it. they were more "general" with some of their other questions getting at the same idea. so why the heck stick in that stupid crap? and why fill your tests with about 3 sets of the same friggin question worded differently?

anyone could score any which way they want on it.

i got a 24, so guess you're wrong.

edit: of course... i stuck to my guns about not givin in to certain particular STUPID questions, so it could have been higher, which gets back to my point.

but anyway, <3 Merle :)

I took the test, and I scored a 42. It says that a score of 32 or higher is scored by 80% of people with Asperger's, so I suspect that I really could have Asperger's. Maybe I'll keep looking into it. Thanks!

yeah, I scored a 39 in the psychologist' office. good luck!

Is this for real? Why is your name "fake name?"

If it is real, then yes, some of your characteristics do sound like they could be Aspie characteristics, although as Phagocyte said, most of what you mentioned is pretty non-specific.

good gawd, when I signed up I used a fake name too, LostInSpace.

Merle

Yeah, but was it literally "fake name" spelled backwards? It just seems a bit odd, unless it's meant to be a joke. When I saw it, it made me think "sock puppet," although the post seems sincere enough.

It's obviously a joke, because thats what a username is, a fake name.

I also got a 24 and I answered as honestly as I could. Another reason why I feel reluctant to go for a diagnosis, I feel as if I would fall into the grey area. But my problems have been very real. Im thinking it would be more useful for me to go for a NVLD, or a dyspraxia diagnosis.

a couple of things

and why fill your tests with about 3 sets of the same friggin question worded differently?

I asked that, and I found out that . . .and I couldn't believe it, but they told me that if you were actually psychotic, you would be constrained to answer in a certain way. When I said 'but you can just remember what you said when it was asked in a different way and answer it like before and they told me 'frankly, only a few people can actually do that.
I laughed.

i got a 24, so guess you're wrong.

ok, I'm wrong, but doesn't make it any less an Aspie trait, though. :D

and please tell me, what does "<3" mean?

Merle
