these people probably didn't have an abusive parent and they believe that every parent deserves a respect. what world do you live in? aren't you a little too much naive even for aspies? look around, there are planty of people who should not have children in first place.

i used to have nightmares with my father yelling at me, i was waking up in middle of night all sweaty and fast breathing. it stopped only few years ago after very significant moment when i realized that there is nothing i should respect him for. yes, he gave me place to live and food to eat, but i would do much better, if he didn't live with us. my mom divorced him only after i left home and i had problems to forgive her that she didn't do it earlier.

For real-- developing compassion for the suffering of others is an antidote for one's own suffering. Believe me I am no stranger to suffering. No, I was not abused at home by my parents, but with my dad it was borderline sometimes. It was emotional and verbal abuse sometimes. Sometimes he would deliberately humiliate me.

But that's all in the past now. Now I understand that my father was/is an imperfect man, just like myself.

I get sick of this "mothers are always wonderful" garbage.

How 'bout we take a look at the math.

A lot of people out there are really screwed up in the head. Right?

Half the really screwed up people in the world are female. Right?

...Well, there's a few people too dumb to figure that part out.

Other than heterosexual aspie males, most people end up having kids. Right?

Therefore, a lot of very screwed up people have kids. Half of them are mothers.

Ever notice how it's perfectly okay to say all kinds of horrible things about your father, but if you say the same things about your mother people start yelling, "She raised you, so you should be grateful."
