and for me the obsession of certain things. If it wern't for those I'd be a pimp see

No f*****g way! I don't have problems with people. People have problems with me. I don't ever get lonely and don't need any need for friends. Go away!

A few weeks ago I would have chosen "No" but after reading various posts on here I have changed some.
I think you can still have your interests and obsessions plus make friends as well.
Being isolated just makes you very anxious and vulnerable to exploitation.

When I took my anti depressant I started thinking to myself. Would if they made a medication that relived the symptoms of ASD? You take the pill and you practically become an NT, but if you missed a day or decided not to take it your back to your old Aspie self. Now I'm not advocating for or against a cure, I'm just curious on what people opinion on it, that's all.

I can guarantee that a few weeks after the release of such a med, there'd be no more Aspies seen EVER again.

Why ?

Because you'd all realise what a monumental job of work being an Aspoid actually is.

Becoming NT would be THE holiday of a lifetime.

Imagine it - every day you wake up is a holiday, however hard you work in your job, however gruelling your personal circumstances.
It would all pale into utter insignificance next to the trauma that is AS.

So to answer your question - not only would I take it, I'd damnwell make sure I had a (LONG) lifetime's supply of it.

It's been the most profound wish I've had for the last Godknows how many years of my life.

That there is no such pill is proof that there is no God.

Not that I ever subscribed to any kind of Divinity.
Though I did briefly believe in Santa and the Tooth Fairy for a while.
And quite honestly, I did considerably better out of both of them than I ever did out of God, whose disciples bored me utterly rigid for too many Sundays to mention.

MemberSix I strongly disagree with you polarizing everything. You make it sound like one group has all the problems and everyone else has perfect, wonderful lives that everyone envies there are never any issues or circumstances popularity is an instant guarantee blah blah blah.
Well, I am here to tell ya that aint reality.
Nobody has a perfect life.
But I can tell you people with friends are less likely to suffer in life than those who are all alone, that is, if the friends are good friends.

On the surface, it would be easy to think so.

But the reality is that however 'comfortable' your life may be - as an Aspoid, it's infinitely more gruelling than it is for the worst off NT.

When that pill finally arrives, you'll see EXACTLY what I mean.

I wouldn't take it even once. I decided to settle with that curiosity and keep it as an important reminder that each of us may ever just experience their part of life and are to be left imaging what the same world looks like from another's perspective. Now, that sentence sounded a little too sophisticated for my tastes.

With the understanding of what being autistic all means and how profound individual perceptions beyond autism are I also slowly moved away from the idea that it would be interested to experience life with another perception for a limited period of time. The idea that everything I perceive will automatically change with such an imagined pill or a now non-existent cure is frightening. I am very curious as to how others see what I see, but I do not want to experience it myself if that means I will truly experience that change while _my world' leaves me. Not just social interaction will change, but everything my eyes take in, my ears take in, etc. - I am already averse to closing my eyes, changing how I take in my surroundings and my senses will start sending freak signals and I'll get confused and overloaded.

So the curiosity remains, I am most eager to observe the newest area called 'people' that opened up after realising my autism made me blind to some things that others life daily, but I remain content with the imagining and the guessing.

All the more for me.

I think all those who express your view should be legally prevented from taking it.

I'd take it if it was a non-prescription supplement and it was proven to work. I can't see where having AS has done me much good so I’d rather not have the effects of it.

I would rather eat a live scorpion than take the pill, I have AS for a reason.

No, thank you.

I'll continue to work on my overstimulation issues and take the rest as found.

MS, you're continuing to be rude and asserting that your opinion is the only true and acceptable one. Please, get off it. That is how you feel, and how others feel - but not all by a wide margin, and you're getting increasingly insulting in your tone.

Being an NT would be no holiday for me, that is for certain.

I'm beginning to find your self-righteous tone of moral superiority a bit tedious, to say the least.

Unless you have something intelligent to say to me, please just shut up and stay out of my way.

Capiche ?
