This reminds me of a few times at school, including the n****r part.

Back in primary school (around 8-9 years old) i was at lunch and this black was picking on me calling me names and stuff. All i wanted to do was have a come back that would shut him up. Well i had some kind of black sweet in my lunch box and the only thing i could think of was "your as black as this sweet". I didnt even know what racism was back then, I lived in a very multi culturle area in London so it wasnt like he was the only one. I just wanted to insult him and thats what my creativity came up with. I didnt use there word n****r, but thats cause id never heard of it, its not that widly used in England.
Well instantly he ran off to the teacher who decided to reremand me infront of the whole class when i got back from lunch. didnt know what shewas talking about or why he wasnt in trouble for starting the name calling. She just kept asking me where i learned to think like that and if i thought she was scum cause she was black.

Another time i was in high school in my faverate class (music) and i wasnt in the "top" class, i was in the lower class with all the people who just didnt care to learn. Well i cant remember exactly why but instead of teaching music the teacher (who i normally got on with) was talking or trying to teach the class the schooling system and where you would end up if they didnt bother with there exams, i guess it was his was his way of trying to teach the class somthing constructive.
Well I put my hand up and asked "Are we gunna do any work today" to which he shouted at me to get out and wait outside. I couldnt understand what was wrong with my question untill he came out a few minuts later and said that the rest of the class were losers and needed to be thought somthing that would help them LOL

But yeah i can see a lot of myself in that story, wanting to br right and thinking anyone that didnt understand a subject i thought was easy were idiots and wanting to be supreme in some sort of way other than social status.

Sorry I'm afraid anus was the most formal word I can think of. Thnk you all for reading this. It means a lot to me. By the way, did I tell you that Cain's special interests is tampons? He even asked a girl what it's like to wear them. He tried one on, collects them, studies them and even records the number ofTimes his sister uses in a day.

How does a guy try a tampon? Up their ass?

Remember what happened to Kenny in South Park when he did that.

Chimchar; what age group are you aiming this story at? It seems a little over the top.
Also, I find that special interests trip themselves based on my experiences. How would a guy find an experience like that - and convert it to a special interest?

Especially a naive aspie.

Of course he'll put it there. Where else?

The age group is young adults and I don't understand how this is over the top. Would it be possible for you to explain that to me?

Insert a a modified version of yourself into the story. All the big writers like Rowling does this.

That's sort of what I did.

And there is such thing as putting TOO much of yourself into one story. It's hard to explain, but you should google or wikipedia a term called "mary-sues". Harry potter was one of them.

Probably because it's about a high school student so lot of characters will be underage and people don't think it would be a appropriate to involve tampons to the underage character.

There are lot of weird people out there who might find that wrong in your story.

Well, you can't please everyone right? Not that I disagree with you. That's sort of what I said when I started the book.

I know that there are a lot worse content in YA books than this one.

Right. When JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter, some people didn't like them because they thought it teaches children witchcraft and the books were banned from some schools.

There's no sense in writing something that parents, teachers and librarians won't recommend to your target audience.

I haven't read any of those bumageddon type books, so I can't be sure if this is going to offend those sorts of people or not. I don't know what the level of tolerance in children's books are these days. I do know that when I was at school in the 80's the story would not have been permitted in primary school. I had to fight tooth and nail to get Stephen King books into our secondary school library and even then, they kicked up a huge stink when some person read the beginning of "carrie" - which is about throwing tampons - not inserting them.

Well, there are books out there that are banned because of references of gays. Gays don't like that.

They don't ban books that much any more. And kids can still read it even if parents forbade them. IT's just that when someone doesn't like one thing, they have to make sure everyone else hates it as well. :(. IMO, it's the books that get badmouthed that usually becomes best-sellers.

Those of you who have read the story, I have a question for you guys. Have you ever had a problem where you can't block out a thought? You want to block out the thought of ducks or zebras and everytime you think about it you hum to yourself or tap your feet to keep your mind off it but you can't so you try harder. Anyone had that problem.

Yes, that's one thing that cognitive behavioral therapy helps with. This is a common problem for people with social anxiety. CBT helps you for instance, identify faulty thinking related to the thought (for instance, does getting one question wrong actually mean you are stupid?), and figure out why it is such a powerful thought for you.
