There's also vermin and carriers of deadly plague.
Actually it was the fleas on their backs that caused the plague..

And it was not the common sewer rat (brown rat) that was the vector of the Great Plague/Black death, but the black rat which is a climing rat from tropical Asia.

I think rodents are very cute. Anybody else think Seals and Otters look like rodents?

Many people mistakenly assume that otter are in the rodent family with they are in the same family as weasels and badgers.

A sea lion and seal head look similar to giant otter heads.

Right, the rats carried the fleas, thus carrying the plague.

Two mice, minus the plague.

Ah, I don't have anything against rats themselves. They don't choose to be vermin and carriers of plague. I like them a lot better than cockroaches, who are REAL vermin. At least with rats, we share a common mammalian profile, but insects are impossible for a soft-bodied, warm blooded, mother-suckled creature to relate to.

My six year old son has two rats....Speedy and Snowy. Rats are very good pets. My older son had a rat (Roger) when he was a teenager...he took him everywhere with him. Roger lived to be nearly 5 years old which is very old for a rat....he was so old he had lost most of his fur.

I like rodents. I don't like seeing them in the subway tracks or on the street or anything, 'cause they might have diseases, but I like tame rodents. And squirrels. I wouldn't want to go near one, but they're cute and seeing them from afar is good.

With the exception of cats anything under 15 lbs. should be exterminated as pests. :D

BTW- for you literals- that was a joke. Just because I don't like pretty much anything smaller than a cat doesn't mean they don't make good pets. I guess.....
