Geodon is a strong antipsychotic used to treat the Schizophrenias...it is prescribed for people who hear voices and suffer delusions. Geodon is never prescribed for Asperger's Syndrome. I worked in a mental hospital for several years and know patients who had to take it.

Give you body time to adjust to it...and the blurry vision and "wobbleness" should subside over time.

i don't think any meds are prescribed for asperger's..are there? that'd be weird....yes, geodon is given to those certain types of patients who hear/see things that aren't there....but very minimal research on the internet reveals there are tons of people who also take it for bipolar mania....which is why i have been prescribed geodon.

i'm feeling much better today...i wish i had never posted now :? ...not because of your response....but just because I don't feel the 'wobbly-ness' today...well i did very minimally this morning..but not anymore...in fact I'm about to workout which is something I wasn't able to even think about attempting to do yesterday...i would have fallen over and dropped dumbbells everywhere  ....i'm glad i can today though because exercise is one of the natural things that really REALLY helps my mood out a whole lot...it makes me feel great.....and of course i will continue with my cocktail of vitamins/fish oil that i take too, nightbender 8) .....i'm always a little afraid one of those fish oil capsules is going to pop open 8O :eew: ..hasn't happened yet though

so anyway....thanks for all the advice and opinions/debates and whatnot. it's been fun.

i'm going to continue with this at least for the two weeks before deciding whether it's not for me.

Nuts! What med is it?

I have had bad experiences with most of the psych meds i have tried.
Wellbutrin, for example, made me depressed and angry.
Adderall made me angry and overwhealmed
Ritalin made me feel groggy and overwhealmed...
Prozac made me decide that I would try to work through my depression without meds...

it's called geodon...she said she['s giving it to me as a mood stabilizer and then i think she's going to give me an anti-anxiety pill too.

i only just started not feeling tired and wobbly a few hours ago and it's almost 9pm

i'm going to give it at least the two weeks before my next appt. to decide it's not for me.....i only have taken it once...so hopefully the side effects i'm having will subside...

has anyone out there taken geodon before? i tried working through things without meds and have done pretty well for the past few years since quitting all prescriptions....but some things i feel i need to be helped with meds...at least for a little while until they are worked through with mr.counselor

i wish i hadn't missed you at the block party poopy!! when i finally talked myself into walking in the direction of large crowds of drunken people it was too late and i felt dumb...and i live right around the corner too  sure you were great.
I have taken Geodon before, but it was several years ago. What I took it for was to relieve my OCD, which it mostly did. Now I don't need it. I can't remember a lot of the side affects, but one of them I do remember was that it seemed to make you lose weight if you were above a certain BMI. And the opposite if you were below. I think it did make me groggy, but it was mild.

thank you for your input Metalwolf :)

i was very groggy yesterday....i'm really glad that I wasn't effected that way today...hoping tomorrow it will be even less so....but other than that so far I have already felt a difference in my moods :!: ...so it was a bad start...all seems fine now.

thanks again!
