I am a horrible liar, but I remember for some reason when I was in middle school and trying to fit in, I flooded the boys' bathroom twice. Yeah, same bathroom, 1 hour apart. The janitor caught me and had the principal come pull me out of class. I lied and no one believed me because of my stupid facial expressions. My dad got called, and as they questioned me, he said to me, "I believe you, son." I felt like s**t. Lower than low. Though I disliked my father at that time and now hate him more than anything, I have always regretted the day I looked him in the eye and lied to him, only to hear him say "I believe you, son." I can still remember that conversation vividly, though it was some 15 years ago.

I am good at bending the truth now and outright lying to get myself out of trouble, but some people can still see right through me.

I've shaded the facts, bent the truth, given misleading answers, and refused to answer on the ground that doing so might incriminate me, but I've never outright lied.

I've told 'white lies' But even that's hard cos I can't keep a straight face. I don't usually lie, I just shut up.
I feel bad if I lie, so it never works to my advantage anyway.

I usually feel compelled not to lie, but I'm quite good at it, and I do it often because I have to. Too many people simply cannot accept the truth, and it would make life hell for me. More than it already is.

I was such a compulsive liar when I was younger. I just wanted to make myself sound more interesting or I had done a lot of bad things that I wanted to keep hidden.
Lately I rarely lie and I find it hard to.

And I have totally lied.

A lot.

What can I say, I'm just a mean person.

I have lied because I thought it keep me out of trouble. One time I made up a story I had ten hamsters in my bush when I was 7 and my teacher told me to tell her about it. So I made up the story as she wrote it down and one day I said they all died because I wanted to end the story. I have also made up others because my mother would keep asking me a same question over and over until she got an answer but I didn't have the ability to say" I don't know" so I would make up a answer. One time I told her which fence my coat was thrown over because these kids in my school took my coat and threw it over a fence but I never found out which fence. My mother kept asking me which fence so I finally picked a fence.

I have also made up other things to tease kids. Oh yeah I also lied to get my brothers in trouble because they always made me mad.

I find lying very difficult. I much prefer 'creative expression' whereby either incomplete truth or misleading phrasing allows dissembling without actually stating an untruth. This is not a moral qualm (indeed morally, deliberating deceiving someone with 'creative expression' is no different to actually lying). I just feel uncomfortable saying stuff that is not true.

I cannot 'lie on the spot', I freeze up, but given prep-time, I can lie and have done so on occasion. It's not that I cannot, it's just difficult and I need to be prepared ahead of time to do it, and it does make me feel uncomfortable. But yes I have done it.

Evidently, I have read literature that indicates that for at least some people with AS lying can be rather habitual.

We're all individuals after all.

Oh well at least you're honest.

I can and do occasionally lie, although I find lying very difficult, and worse, I often feel compelled to give the most accurate possible answer to any question asked. This can be extremely inconvenient because it makes it hard for me to hide anything from people. It also makes me very stressed trying to answer any forcefully asked question "right" and "as truly as possible" because I don't express things very well when speaking.

Pretty much describes my experience. Most of the times I have lied, it was to avoid being drawn into other peoples' unnecessary (in my opinion) dramas. Ie, "Did you see so-and-so this morning, hanging around my office?! !" me: "Sorry, I've been too busy to notice." Mostly that sort of thing. Usually if I have to tell someone something they don't want to hear, after I give them the 'bad news", I'll give them a spun version as well-- "but on the other hand, you can look at it this way..."

I've told many lies to my parents when I was in high school, to save face. I didn't want them to know that I had a crappy day at school, or that I was thinking about dropping out. They must have known that I wanted to drop out, with my hippie clothes and attitudes. I've kept it all to myself and I've managed to graduate on the A-Honour Roll.

LOL! I've told a million lies in my lifetime. Heck, I lied this morning so I wouldn't have to go to school today.

I only tell white lies and that's it. I can't tell big lies.

Hmmm... yes. Yes I have.

I think anti-lying is silly and prudish. Responsible lying is morallistic and practical.

Apparently I have a talent for stating outrageous untruths in a convincing way. But I never do it with the intention of seriously deceiving someone. Only for entertainment purposes. :)
