A delay in language is associated with High Functioning Autism.

Hm. The "no delay in language development" one is one of the arguments used by my psychiatrist to refute my neuropsychologist's diagnosis of AS. The psych said "Oh no! Oh no, no, no! You talked just like a normal kid! You can't have ANY form of autism!"

I do not really understand the question?

A tomato-plant is made up of parts that by themselves are not a tomato-plant...is it possible for a plant to have all the traits of a tomato plant and as a result seem to have it?

Not really, only a tomato-plant has all the traits of a tomato-plant (for instance the absence of non-tomato-plant traits is an important tomato-plant trait).

If one has all the traits of Asperger's then one has Asperger's.

all of a tomotao plant is a tomato plant, they are but organs but are still 100 percent gentically tomato plant

These could have some logic - several studies have shown that almost all people (or, at least, children) diagnosed with AS have, in reallity HFA (meaning that, in the real world, "Aspergers' Syndrom" is little more than a fancy way of saying "High-Functioning Autism").

Then, if you don't have the traits that most people diagnosed with AS have, perhaps these mean that you should not receive the label "AS".

I'm not really sure what you mean by 100 percent genetically tomato plant. My cherry tomatoes do not have identical DNA to each other, let alone to my money maker tomatoes. They also share DNA with other non-tomato-plants evidently, and share individual constituents coded for by DNA with non-tomato-plants.

I know what you mean. I had no language delays, liked talking to people and, initially, had a diagnosis of ADHD.
I was ADHD-like because I didn't want to sit still. I moved around a lot. I was outgoing, too. The only time I wasn't outgoing was when I was rejected or had no one to be with or someone was mean to me, then I would go into my own little world. Since this happened a lot, I was in my own little world quite often.
High Functioning Autism and Asperger's Syndrome, for now, are two different diagnosises. The difference in the two is the speech delay. High Functioning Autism has it, Asperger's doesn't. I picture Asperger's being a slightly more outgoing child with problems socializing, getting rejected a lot, misunderstandings, things like this.

Supposedly there are two seperate

Very interesting and thought provoking, but I know what it implies. A person could have unrelated little symptoms here and there that just by coincidence are most/all the symptoms of one particular thing like Asperger's.

I don't know if I am going to be off base here or not. But I will say it anyway. I think we all know that there are many misdiagnosis out there. Many people have AS that aren't diagnosed, and some are diagnosed with AS that may not have it. But I feel like, at least for me, that I know I am on the spectrum just by the way I feel mentally. I can feel that I am on the spectrum of Autism.

How many of you that are diagnosed on the spectrum have this feeling that you know you are autistic? Are there some of you that have been diagnosed, but deep down you do not feel like you are on the spectrum?

I sometimes wonder whether my symptoms are a result of several other things...I have had head trauma and PTSD...and a sort of unsusal upbringing that undoubtedly affected me psychologicly....Then again, AS traits seem to run on both sides of the family.

I wonder whether I'd be more or less of an aspie without the head trauma (provided it had any real effect whatsoever or was not the cause of my traits to begin with)

Perhaps i'd be a smarter aspie.

I feel like I am on the spectrum...but I can't be positive that that is the way one is supposed to feel when they are on the spectrum

I think you could just coincidentally be that type of person, but it's probably very unlikely. However, nothing about Asperger's is really unique and something that only aspies have, it's just the combination of them all that makes it.

Asperger's is composed of many symptoms, near-limitless combinations, and endless range of affect. One may have traits that are similar without having Asperger's, but that isn't the same as having the condition. Some behaviors may exhibit the same but have entirely different causations. I'm not sure the point of this question.

I had history of language delay. Even as a teenager i went for a whole year or more with out talking. I wouldnt even reply if some one said hello. No one diagnosed me with autism. I was only diagnosed this year. I didnt talk when i was four and i stopped talking when i was about 13. People got frustrated with me and thought i was being rude but they didnt realise i couldnt talk.
I can talk alot when i talk though, if that makes sense.
Well I am much more talkative as an adult.
Thats true too people who are being abused stop talking or cant especially if they have autism, even mild.

I'm not really sure what you mean by 100 percent genetically tomato plant. My cherry tomatoes do not have identical DNA to each other, let alone to my money maker tomatoes. They also share DNA with other non-tomato-plants evidently, and share individual constituents coded for by DNA with non-tomato-plants.

everypart of said tomato plant coantsins the genes of the tomato planttherefore any part is still tomoato plant

Every part of any person with AS contains the genes of a person with AS.....therefore....

The tomato plant contains many genes; not all are native. There is much interaction and hybridization.

I think there's no such thing as "simulated Asperger's" because autism is polygenic, and you WILL have all your traits from various different sources just because of the nature of the thing. Autism isn't having or not having some single basic trait; it just becomes autism whenever you have enough traits, not just because you do or don't you have some gene or other.

This seems to be the case because whenever they discover some gene that has a relationship to autism, it is usually a tiny relationship--they've gotten extremely excited whenever anything is strong enough to explain 2% of autism. That makes it seem to me like there must be lots of places on your DNA that can influence autistic traits; that these traits are found in the population at large; and that having autism simply means having enough of them piling up on top of one another.

I think that would also explain the wild variation from person to person on the spectrum.
