From where I come from, you can say n***a but not ni**er as long as you're not white and small. My best friend is like 235 lbs and white, he calls all his friends n***a, even those who are white. That part I don't understand. Probably because he's bigger and therefore superior to them by some social fighting standard in which I don't know or understand. Basically, it's okay for blacks to be racist to whites, but not okay for us to be racist to them. I get called cracker all the time. Even when I went to a K-12 school, 1st graders called me that. o_O

I'm pretty blind to race differences and that got me into trouble a few times when what I had said was misinterpreted as racist, for example- I once met two black guys in a park, it was late at night and me and my friend were sitting in the park, sipping beers and playing guitar while those two guys showed up.

anyway, after a while they asked if we could all go to a bar somewhere to have a chat because it was getting chilly so I said "oh cool, we'll finally be able to see what your faces look like."

they got terribly offended and I was just stating a fact (it was dark + they were black = I was only able to see their eyeballs and their teeth).

LOL. I remember that I spent the rest of the night explaining myself because I couldn't comprehend how they read my remark as in any way racist.

on topic though, I don't believe in race differences, but cultural differences are a different ball game indeed. I'm absolutely sure that it's the cultural differences that lie at the core of racism (just read "The Bell Curve" or look it up on Wikipedia to see what I mean).

Fascinating. Someone can't even mention something offensive regarding Black history such as a noose, or slavery. Or even their penchant for having women dance in their music videos like animals, without people jumping all over them calling them a racist and a horrible person. Yet when it comes to jokes about people putting live people in ovens, that's funny.

I just have a problem with this, it seems people don't take anti-Semetic humor as seriously as it should be. Perhaps it's cause Jewish people aren't as good at getting into people's faces and terrifying them by screaming at them, until they realize what they said was wrong. Or learned how to walk on eggshells around the person they offended.

That was my point. I find it very strange, that Black people seem to have this heiarchy over racism. Nobody can even look at them in a negative way, or they're "RAAAAIIIICCCIIISSSTTT!" To be honest, I would like to be able to watching music channels, without seeing a display of tribal mating dance rituals, oops I mean Rap music.

Jokes are jokes, nothing serious about them. It be very difficult to offend me with a joke.


People who are offended by jokes, they take life too seriously. Especially people who get offended with TV shows, they take TV too seriously. People who get offended with jokes online, take internet too seriously.


I used to take jokes seriously because I didn't understand them but now I know jokes aren't real and they are not serious. So I don't take them seriously anymore.


And I've read that aspies can get upset with jokes but guess what, I have seen none aspies get upset with them too so it can't be an aspie thing or do they just happen to have that aspie trait?

There's a huge difference between a joke, and making light of sadistry perpetuated onto others. It is reasonable for someone to be offended, when someone thinks that when other people tried to kill their family line, or people of their Ethnic heritage for no reason, other than being of that heritage is funny.

Hard to tell why some people laugh at unfunny jokes.

Yeah sometimes those holocaust jokes are like that, people laugh when it's kind of lame, not really funny. Like when people laugh at a racist joke, and think it's hilarious when it's not really funny or clever. It's one thing to laugh at a racist joke that's funny, it's another thing when it's lame but people laugh hilariously.

I think that sometimes people laugh at something Verboten just because you're not supposed to say things like that... not because they agree.

I didn't even know that cracker was such a term until michael richards. As for the N word? Some higher class blacks used it in a way that was similar to some whites calling some whites "poor white trash". BTW PWT is NOT really a reference to poverty. Some really nice and decent people are poor. It is a reference to those expecting a hand out, LAZY, CHEATING, etc....

BTW for the record, I am white. Though I RARELY use it, I HAVE said PWT. I have NOT used the N word. I DO think it is STUPID that people have loaded it so much, etc.... Did you know that some Jews spell God G*d? In Germany it might be G*tt, etc... You know why? Their official position is that if it said God, and they ripped it up, it would be like ripping up god HIMSELF, so they do it out of reverence. So WHY do I bring this up? Because they are changing the name to start and, in doing so, causing what they claim to be trying to prevent.

NOW, as for the N word. It is related to a latin word that comes through german, spanish, and french, and it means ****BLACK****! The name of their race and the class of the race means BLACK! In a way, it shows a bit more respect that they get a name descriptive of who they are. The OTHER races were named after the location in which early definitive fossiles were found. So aren't the blacks kind of doing what the jews do? HECK, I LAUGH at insults from people I have no respect for.

Blacks have taken offense at a LOT of stereotypes, even neutral or POSITIVE ones. And it IS interesting. Some of the most racist people I have known were NOT white! People claim that Obama would have won MORE of the vote if racism didn't exist. That is BULL!! !! !! Look at the pictures of those crying, listen to the interviews, listen to their reasons for voting, etc.... If he were white, he probably would have lost BIG TIME! And EVERY person in BOTH parties that lost to him was WHITE! He even ran against two women, and some voted for them simply because they were women(by their admission), and WON! If anything, this was a show of SEXISM, rather than racism. Just look at the final attacks against palin!

As for CRACKER? Can someone explain its REAL origins as an insult?
