Now you've just reminded me of a whole set of childhood memories that I had not thought about in years and years.
No one tormented me with uncontrollable laughter. But if anyone at all touched me for any reason (Mother giving a comforting hug, Doctor using stethoscope to listen to my breathing, even a friendly pat on the back by a sporting teammate) I recoiled with a physical aversion that compares to having my body covered in spiders (skin crawling, etc.).
I never understood why I was so sensitive to touch. Of course, I never understood Asperger's until very recently. It all makes sense now.
Thank you for helping me to integrate yet another piece in this complex and bizarre puzzle.
