39.5 going on 12...

I also look younger than my age (not bragging -- people tell me so all the time!). :P Is this an Aspie/Autie thing? -- to look (quite) younger than one's actual age? I've seen people bring it up on different Aspie boards pretty frequently.

ridge rider,

I am so pleased to here your story. Not because i can relate. I am, pleased to hear your story.

I hope that it is an unraveling process.

I have stared at your avatar, looking for meaning, and i always find a mystery.

i am so pleased to hear your story.

And you really demonstrated some grat writing skills.

yes, to your question. i could tell by the monotone writing sounds that you probably speak the same way. mono voice tone is an aspie aspect.

I guess I have to say "over 40" because I'm 40.5 this past weekend. I'm still feel like a teenager with way too many responsibilities, though.

I'm 48 and still enjoy life/nature with child-like awe and glee. You are very likely to see me picking wildflowers in the spring, catching fireflies in the summer, sitting by an open campfire & toasting marshmallows in the fall and making snow angels & snow-tubing in the winter. Life is still full of fun and magic...you just gotta look in the right places. Life is Good / Living is Simple :)

I'm 39 and feel a lot younger in my head.

I too look young for my age, I think it is an aspie thing

I've just finished my first term at University doing an animation degree
The age gap doesn't seem to count at all

In fact most of these 18/19 year olds seem to think my crazy behaviour
is really cool, the student barstaff don't agree, I'm already banned.

I've accepted the fact that I'll always be a rebellious teenager even when I'm 90.

I think all the constant roleplaying and pressure to conform has an aging affect
on NTs, they lose touch with their inner selves very young.
I have always been myself and am happy alone
Solitude to me is like fresh cool air on a hot stuffy day.

In His view of the word/phrase thank-you, ridgerider adds,

Quote:
It is one of those things that seems to never be inappropriate, usually appreciated, and great filler or conversation ender.

So - thank you SB2, it was "great" of you to say such a kind thing.

And that goes to prove that there is difficulty in reading social clues as it pertains to communication.
Seemingly i am being told the conversation is in complete, done, through, fin. But i woiuld like to respond to a different quote from ridge rider.

ridgerider admits,

Quote:
It took me until almost age 40 to be able to accept a compliment without having to analyze it for sincerity, whether I actually deserved it or not, was I being set up for a ripoff, what was the desired or acceptable response, etc.
Quote:

And it is justifiable to think this way. with all the dishonesty in the rules communication there seems to be a utility in communication which is often used as a means to an end by those practiced in its art form.

Seriously, i am always interested in stories about people and what determined who they have become. Without judgement, i take the opportunity to put myself in others shoes as a means of understanding what makes them unique.

ridge rider,

i noticed the lack of Capitol Letters in your name. You must be well practiced in the art of humility. i try to be and without success. my new campaign of change, i decided, would be to not capitolize the word i in verse. i feel that by capitolizing 'i' then you are bringing importance to yourself. like a title or name.

Also, did you ever receive my reply to you last week when i submitted a bible verse?

Phillipians 4:13
i can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

if ever you wish to discuss religion, or theories, or have questions about the scripture i am your man.

i went to a private christian school from El-Hi. i have also read the bible (except Numbers) to fruition 3 times and countless times in sporadic fashion. Also, have committed to memory Luke 2, and the entire chapter of John 1 (the love chapter).

1 John 4: 6-8

We belong to god. and those who know god listens to us. and those who do not belong to god do not hear. That's how we can tell the difference between the Spirit of truth and the spirit of lies.

beloved let us love each other, for love is of god and all that knoweth god. Everone who has been born again has been born of god. And they know god.

Anyone who does not love does not know god, for god IS love.

Indeed. As the song says, "I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now." I'm enjoying my transition into "middle age" (39 now) than I did any other time in my life. 8>
