I just discovered Cheesly garlic and herb vegan/dairy-free cheese. It is DELICIOUS. Which is a huge relief, because Tofutti vegan/dairy-free cheese is gross.

Cool. My favourite Italian dish is penne (cos that shape's easier to eat with a fork) with shavings of grana pedano. And sometimes at home I have pasta with soy sauce, but only if the type of pasta isn't really Italian-like, cos China and Italy don't mix (that's one of my weird aspie things).

I've had an aversion to meat for as long as I can remember, including fish. My family used to tease and say I was "un-American" because I couldn't eat a McDonald's hamburger. I'd always pick around the meat in my mom's dishes, and eat mostly the side dishes. Eventually, I just flat refused to eat it. Now I doubt I could even if I tried.

I'm a bad vegetarian. I pretty much avoid meat, but I occasionally indulge in chicken, shrimp, and imitation crab.

It's partially because I don't like most meat, and I can only eat small amounts before it starts to feel like I'm eating sawdust. I have a serious aversion to any pork products - even the smell grosses me out. I'm also a bad vegetarian for other reasons (health, environmental issues, liking animals, etc.).

I think it's funny that a lot of people assume that vegetarians like salads though, because I almost never eat them. I don't really like lettuce, and I don't digest it well. I'm more of a carb-o-holic and love pasta and bread and stuff.

I've been a vego on and off since I was 13. For ethical reasons, and more lately sustainability reasons in particular. Although I see vegetarianism as an ideal for which to strive, rather than some kind of mortal sin. So I eat fish occasionally, but mainly just to keep my surrounding people-objects happy. Mainly my mum.

I like to try and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables mostly for health reasons. I do like meat, but I imagine that if I go to live on my own, I might end up eating less meat because meat is expensive. And there are many good protein sources in vegetables that aren't as expensive.

I was once hardcore vegan when my mom went through this be kind to animals phase but found out she was alergic to soy. My dad is a meat and potatoes kind of man and hated it. The food is really bland at first if are used to a lot of meat. But after a while you get used to it. It's also practicaly impossible to find products that are not tested on animals outside of a health food store. When I get a place of my own I am going hardcore vegan again. I completly lost my taste for pork after seeing Babe and bonding with a pig that belonged to our farmer neighbors. I would starve to death before I ate pork.
