I love talking about my obsessions. All my friends are totally into it, too, and I can get pretty much anyone I know in rl hooked instantly. It's always been that way for me.

I used to try to pretend I didn't invest as much time as I did in things (i.e. my toys and things, watching the same movie hundreds of times) around other people. I'm not sure if it's emberassment or I don't want to share, or maybe someone bugged me about it and I didn't want to be weird, (emberassment, then) but along the way I learned to keep things in perspective and discovered it was a characteristic of a categoric classification I fit into. So now I think nothing of being a bit different in this regard. i.e. Doing and undoing 3D puzzles over and over to the point of autonomic memorization for the hell of it, going the better part of a year to hwa rang do without missing a single class.

People just think I've got too much time on my hands, and I play into that, so maybe I'm still hiding a little bit.

"Happy Tree Friends" is my biggest obsession. I'm extremely well-known in the HTF community (as we call it) and I've helped promote the show and stuff for Mondo Media, the company who creates it. They've actually sent me over $100 worth of stuff and storyboards as a thank you to me. :D

I'm also really into pageants, houses, and all kinds of random things. But like I said, I'm mostly really into HTF. I've been watching it for over a year now. I also make a lot of YouTube videos for it, too. One in particular gained over 100,000 views in eight months!

Lightning88, that's terrific! :)

I like to hear about obsessions even if they're not the same ones as mine. I find the intensity attractive and interesting, I think, because most people don't seem to get 'into' things the same way - only skim over the surface of an interest.

Sometimes I'm embarrassed about my obsessions, like a few years ago when I was obsessed with Pokemon. More often, it's just that it's such a specific area of interest that there aren't many occasions where you can just start talking about it for no reason.

I can be ashamed not only about my obsessions but about the power they hold over me. I learned so early on to hide my obsessiveness that most of the time it never even occurs to talk about them. Once the obsessive interest button gets pressed, I automatically retreat on that subject, like an involuntary reaction.

Why don't you feel safe here, CockneyRebel? Everybody enjoys your company here, me included. :)

I remember she did before when I first joined but I think people got sick of it here because I can remember her posting threads saying "Its been (insert number here) days since I have talked about routemasters."

There was another member here who talked about straps and some members here had a problem with it so yeah, aspies can get sick and tired of hearing someone talk about the same thing over and over just like anyone else.
