I like to do crossword puzzles, both in the newspaper and on the Internet.

I am interested in the Olympic Games (sites, events, and notable athletes).

I love cats, particularly Siamese, tabbies and Calicos.

and it's not on purpose it just happens that way doh

Me too, at the moment my two favourite shows are Friends and Sex and the City, both of which have ended now, LOL. So all I have are repeats (and DVDs).

But in my defense, when Sex and the City was on TV, I was too young to watch it (actually, I'm too young to watch it now, LOL). And a lot of people still watch Friends repeats, even the popular people at my school, so it ain't that sad, LOL.

Hmmm, I have noticed I'm also this way. I got really obsessed with Will & Grace a couple years ago after the show had ended. When I first saw it when it was popular I was like "how stupid is this" but suddenly one day it was the wittiest show ever. I've done with with music groups, movies, etc.

I seem to. I try to point out something I find interesting and can get the answer "Do I care?" Just last month a UK store named Woolworths was closing. That store came an obsession for me and I had to visit it when I passed it, much to others annoyance. Also I like to watch SpongeBob in other languages (I've seen it in 30 languages) and people say "Why? You can't understand what they're saying."

My mom used to really like woolworths but it closed in my area like 10 years ago.

So yeah I occationally have very odd interests but their normally tempoary, very small and I forget about them fairly quickly. Like I used to be interested in untying knots and looking and the curl the knot has made the string once you take them out and try to smoothen it out.

Definetly.
Also, I'm obsessed with slavic music, and everyone gets annoyed and they say stupid shet like "they aren't even using real words!" How ignorent can people be lol? I sing along to it anyway. I may not understand all the words, but I understand the pronunciation just fine and I love it so why not?

slavic music? any languages in particular, or just anything slavic? linguistics in general and slavic languages in particular have been major focuses of mine since middle school. i have also annoyed the heck out of countless people by playing and singing along to slavic music (mostly russian, but i have quite a bit of polish and ukrainian stuff as well).

i also have a kind of huge collection of language instructional books in slavic languages (so for example, beginning chinese for russian speakers, german grammar for polish speakers, etc). it goes with my equally large number of these books in english. i have them all in the same place for the first time ever, and i'm suddenly realizing just how crazy it must look to anyone who enters my apartment (well, ok, so far that's no one, but still, just one more reason not to have guests I guess...)

Er, my broad languages/linguistics interest is pronounced boring or incomprehensible by my family, and I don't usually share it. (I haven't even gotten to advanced stuff yet in any area, just advanced enough so that ordinary people can't understand me.) So when I've translated a poem into my new constructed language or created some Cyrillic-based alphabet-thingy for English, I'm at a loss to explain it intelligibly... Kids at school are weirded out by my writing systems, and tend to express this in a funny way. For example, "Whoa, is that Chinese???" when it looks like Arabic or Mongolian script, if anything.

You created your own language? Cool, so did I! But I did it for an art project. I suppose the others in my class thought I was pretty weird for doing that, because I spent all day writing my textbook instead of painting/sculpting/whatever.

Also, I  cataloguing. Some people find this odd.

I wouldn't think it is weird but, one of my friends has said to me that my coin collecting hobby is boring. He can't understand why I enjoy owning/inspecting coins, or how I can look at price guides for hours without getting bored. I even spend alot of time on Ebay watching coins sell that I have no intention of buying. I guess I can only explain it as an obsession that gives me happiness. :)

For many years I had a strong interest in the polar regions (especially the South Pole) which would have probably bored the average "NT" to tears... and now it's lions, which I know many people love but not to the same degree as I do (okay I am downright obsessed).. however, what may be interesting to someone else is incredibly boring to me like shopping for the best style of clothing, no thanks. Not for me.

Some people might think that my Raggedy Ann and Andy collection might be weird and/or boring.
I have close to 100 at the moment.

For a while I was obsessed with the polar regions as well, only for me it was more about the Arctic. I really liked arctic wolves and polar bears. I still do, I'm just not proper obsessed anymore.

I think all NTs will get annoyed at your obsession unless it's football and girls for boys or for girls make up and crap like that.

I am obsessed with NUMBERS now! Anyone who knows me will know how odd this is! :P

yes spongebob - all the time. it makes me feel lonely. i like conversing with some other people on the spectrum because of SHARED intensity, if not shared special interests. it is very important for all people to be listened to. and it can be hard for us. because people are not interested in the content or the delivery of what we say at times. oh well. good you brought this issue up.

i am getting obsessed wtih mircea eliade's writings again...no-one wants to know.
