This are the visual accessing cues for a "normally organized" right-handed person.
Up and to the Left
Indicates: Visually Constructed Images (Vc)
If you asked someone to "Imagine a purple buffalo", this would be the direction their eyes moved in while thinking about the question as they "Visually Constructed" a purple buffalo in their mind.
Up and to the Right
Indicates: Visually Remembered Images (Vr)
If you asked someone to "What color was the first house you lived in?", this would be the direction their eyes moved in while thinking about the question as they "Visually Remembered" the color of their childhood home.
To the Left
Indicates: Auditory Constructed (Ac)
If you asked someone to "Try and create the highest the sound of the pitch possible in your head", this would be the direction their eyes moved in while thinking about the question as they "Auditorily Constructed" this this sound that they have never heard of.
To the Right
Indicates: Auditory Remembered (Ar)
If you asked someone to "Remember what their mother's voice sounds like ", this would be the direction their eyes moved in while thinking about the question as they "Auditorily Remembered " this sound.
Down and to the Left
Indicates: Feeling / Kinesthetic (F)
If you asked someone to "Can you remember the smell of a campfire? ", this would be the direction their eyes moved in while thinking about the question as they used recalled a smell, feeling, or taste.
Down and To the Right
Indicates: Internal Dialog (Ai)
This is the direction of someone eyes as they "talk to themselves".
The Gist of it...
How this information is used to detect lies:
Example: Let's say your child ask's you for a cookie, and you ask them "well, what did your mother say?" As they reply "Mom said... yes." they look to the left. This would indicate a made up answer as their eyes are showing a "constructed image or sound. Looking to the right would indicated a "remembered" voice or image, and thus would be telling the truth.
These are for a "normally organized" person, I don't know if they are referring to coordination-wise or NT, or um 'NO'? Hah
So if we are differently organized (DO?) then the directions could have differences.
Our "VCs" are different, and our "ACs"are definitely different so we may look in different directions than in the image. Infact with how our brains work, you could say that all of the visual accessing cues work differently than NTs or NOs. Remember there is much more to Aspergers and Autism than just social issues.
I can do all that with eyes open and straight ahead. For the campfire, it can actually smell like the building is burning down, of course, plasterboard and plastics don't smell like oak, and PINE doesn't smell like oak either, so I guess I am safe. Frankly, I never trusted this kind of body language. HECK, I noticed one day I would often rub my nose after answering people. Body language jerks say that means I was LYING, but I was telling the TRUTH! I HAVE lately often closed my eyes, but that is more for a rest than anything else. I have sometimes rolled my eyes up, when closed, just because of how it feels and I might remember better. Imagining the past, future, lying, telling the truth, my eyes don't necessarily move anywhere.
These days, when talking to a group, my eyes go all around, from person to person, but that is because I was told people like it better. I got into sometimes making hand gestures, but they don't necessariliy mean anything either.
