I was replying when the system went down for a minute.
One of my doctors came out one time and asked if if I had any idea at all of how strange or unusual I appeared to other people. I had always though I had become excellent at acting normal.

Maybe the good doc just wanted you to stay in the system. More money..etc Thought about that?

No, after I related that incident to friends they all acknowledged that I was not very good at appearing to be normal.

Well at least you've got a honest doc. I just think I appear like normal. I might as well appear like ready to be laid in straps, for all I know :D

Thats an interesting question. I always think people percieve me as I percieve myself. Unfortunately, because of terrrible low self esteem I have a very negative self perception.

I assume everyone has a negative impression of me.

I'm pretty much the same but apparently ppl like me and i always get surprised wen someone tells me they like me.

I've been told by a lot of people that I'm attractive or pretty, & I agree with that. I am pretty. My body could be better, but it also could be a lot worse (& used to be).

Depends on how much the people know me. My friends, they kinda know me well enough to my mind.

I've so far met no stranger who in face-to-face situations, during calls, on the Internet did not perceive me as totally different from how I am.

That didn't attribute traits, behaviour, opinion, likes, dislikes and strengths and weaknesses with me that I do not have.

It's... interesting.

I have a very non-congruent type of communication. Apparently.

I like the way I look in the bathroom medicine cabinet mirror. That's my favorite place to look at myself because there's a light right above the mirror and I like the way it makes me look. I hate the mirror in my mother's bathroom at her house. I hate the way I look in it.
I hate the way I look in mirrors in public bathrooms too. The lighting is too harsh. Sometimes I like photos of myself, depending on the lighting.
I voted "no". The way I see it is, I have this great attitude about myself, I think I am more open minded, less prejiduce and generally better than most people in terms of how I think and other people mess it up with their errors in perception and ignorant stereotyping. Is that my fault?

it really depends on the context.

i live in an area in austrlia that is replete with all different types of communities and subcultures. in Nimbin, where i was a couple of weeks ago, i met a guy with aspergers and there ae two peopl in the town who may have tourettes (expletives and all.)

if you take me to the city, i appear a bit weird i suppose.

i know that people can look at myhands or the way i swing my arms sometimes when walking.

i hae always assumed i looked quite normal. i made a talk of myself talking into the webcam and i was actually shocked at my stimming and teh way my face has involuntary facial expressions that are like tics or something.

my son's dad says i am weird in this resepct - especially when i stop mid sentence and do the "gone upstairs to the private movie realm in my brain" aspie stare. i just phase outr mid-sentence and do not hear or see anything except private films and images.

I thought i looked fine. but who knows? it also depends on how much stimming i do and as i have said...the context.
