For Aspies who have a good memory...
I have an excellent long term memory. I can recall events with precise detail. My sister would make fun of me for it. My short term memory is horrible though, I can forget a persons name if they were just introduced to me five minutes ago. I also have face blindness. It's kind of a good thing to have if you want to forget about somebody, like an ex-lover. You feel less emotion for them if you forget what they look like.
If face blindness is what I think it is, I definitly have that. It takes so much effort to remember a face, and the only ones I can easily remember are related to my special interests in some way. Like my example of Caylee who looks like Caylee from Firefly.
I can clearly remember events from early childhood, events that were significant to me that wouldn't be for someone else, unless someone thinks staring at a distant large tree while thinking at age 4 is significant. For me at least it was.
As far as names a faces go: I'm bad with names and excellent with faces. My eye-contact is very fleeting; however, that doesn't prevent me from remembering someone's facial appearance. I typically have a good memory for things that I deem worthy of focusing my attention on. For instance, I am good with rote memory tasks such as learning languages, but I am terrible at recalling specific information from text I have read unless I have studied it thoroughly, in which case I would repeat exactly what was in the text word-for-word. Usually while studying, I read the text, translate the text into my own language of thinking, and then I'll remember everything about what I've read without being able to produce and summarize the information in speech, which can cause great distress during classroom discussions. My answers tend to be very brief and to the point.
I have a great long term memory. I recall things from when I was age 3 and 4. I recall things that a lot of people in my age group don't recall. But I do have names issue. I have gotten better throw practice. It is a skill I had to learn to develop when I have done plays. What is funny is I had a eraser time recalling that actors characters name then there own real life name.
There is an issue that people I have not seen in a long time. I have issues recognizing them. Also I can have issue if they change hair style drasticy. One example is I was working on some home work at school in the student deli and a friend came in and sat down. It took me a minute to get who he is. He had let his hair to grow out. When I last saw him he was bald.

Great long-term memory and visual memory. If I've seen it once I tend to remember it. My family always asked me where things were and about events that took place years ago. I'm also pretty good at remembering faces - sometimes. Names - that's different. At times I can't remember the names of relatives or people I've known for years.

My memory's wierd.
I can remember details of things I "shouldn't" remember, like TV shows I haven't seen in years... everything the characters were saying, wearing, etc. I can also remember very small details about people years later that I feel odd about still remembering. Especially things that they've said or worn. I can remember a lot of the things that I read & know a lot of poems, songs, & some stories & parts of books by heart.
But I can't remember a lot of things I "should" remember. I can only remember what I find interesting, & if I don't, I rarely do, unless I write it down, & then I can remember it a little. I started school on Tuesday & can't remember much except for the notes I took & some of what the instructors for Art History & Civilizations said, because I was interested in what they were saying. I can remember a story the Composition instructor was telling us about on Tuesday, but nothing else. If I saw any of the people in any of my four classes, I wouldn't know who any of them were, except maybe this one girl because she had red hair & that made her stand out in my mind. It's very hard for me to remember names. I can sometimes remember faces, sometimes not. I tend to remember more of what the person was saying or maybe wearing rather than their name or face, & that's only if something stands out to me. I can remember people's voices sometimes, & then I connect the voice with what I remember being said & remember who the person is in that way.

Very similar to me!
I can play back Back To The Future in my head, including what all the characters say!
I still remember something that happened on December the 4th last year, something completely random.
Mine, I can tell you I moved from one town to the next as a child on September 1, 1990, and I started junior high school in a new town with no friends on September 4, 1990. What was worse, I did grade school at a Christian School who had like 90 students K-12, and then I started school like that in a public school who had over 200 kids in 7th grade alone. The other difference besides student population was teaching methods. The Christian school did "Lifepacs" where you read on your own, answer questions on your own, and then test on your own so that way, you learn on your level. On my first day of junior high school, I wore a purple/pink/magenta button down shirt and a jean skirt. Kids made fun of my outfit, but I have no idea who did even though I went to school with them for at least a year and a half before we moved again. The only teachers where I remember their names are the ones that are still there because my mom works there now, and even then, I can only seem to remember my English/Reading teachers who are now good friends with my mom. The only students I remember is the guy I had a crush on, and I didn't recognize him when I saw him years later as he recognized me. I can barely remember my best friends at the time names, and I wouldn't recognize them in public now. Oh, I also remember crying on my first day, and the geography teacher helped me get through it. I don't remember her name or face, but I remember she taught geography and was the teacher that often told the class if they behaved, she'd give them lolly pops. I don't remember the class room number, but when I visit that school now (to see my mom), I could tell you which room was hers. I can also remember which rooms I had many other classes in, and the names of the class, but couldn't tell you the teacher or what students were in that class with me. I do remember the principals face, but not his name, but it might have been Smith.
