How on Earth do you manage that one? I mean my family has always pried for info about every little thing I do. I only see them once a year but whenever I go for a visit they quiz me on what I do at my job, how much money I make, "are you getting a raise this year", etc. Not only are my parents like that but also their next door neighbor, my grandmother, all my aunts and uncles. Everybody. Is it just a Southern thing to be that nosey?
My relatives are just as nosy... human nature I guess.

No, it's an incredibly rude thing to be that nosy. My first impulse is to say that you are the family scape goat.
Do they do that to anyone else?
My second impulse is that they're trying to be nice, they just don't know how else to interact with you and have gotten into bad habits. Can you give them a more interesting topic?
Well I'm not much of a talker, verbally speaking I mean, so changing the subject isn't so easy when I don't want to talk anyway. I'm more a listener. I also have nothing in common with any of my family so its not like I have stuff to talk about. They are nosy like that with everyone though its not just me. My one cool cousin told me our uncle was sent to her house to quiz her how much her husband makes at his job and from the military pension after he was disabled from the war. Is that not freakin nosy?
Also my friend of 20 yrs who is from that same area who incidently moved out west after I did also quizzes me about how much money I have in the bank, how much I made at each job, how much I spend on groceries, how much I have in stocks and profit sharing and demands to know exactly what doctor I am going to see and what for whenever I have an appointment. And the only reason I tell her I have an appointment is because she calls me 6-10 times a day and won't let me off the phone. So I have to scream at her I have to go I have an appointment in 5 minutes across town. Sorry I'm getting off the topic but I don't think I'm the only one who deals with nosiness in others and I feel its probably quit common.
