Why Excel and not an SQL database?

Or Java? Or Flash? :P :lol: :wink:

Why the hell would you use those?

Well, to begin with I was razzing you. That said, either of the two could be incorporated into a multimedia presentation with relative ease for web use and given the minimal amount of acronyms to begin with, SQL database seems a bit excessive, no?

Well, it really depends on how many acronyms there are. There may be so many that it may require a SQL database.

what does "tbh" and "1337" mean? It took me forever to figure out what "bff" meant. "NT" also took me awhile to figure out

1337 is hacker speech (haxors). It is a numeric remapping to similarly shaped letters. So 1=L, 3=E and 7 =T (yeah, it is a stretch). So 1337 means Leet which still makes no sense at first reading because it is a rhyme of an abbreviation. Leet means "elite" - a highly skilled hacker.

Confusing enough?

Really, that's extremely unlikely. An Excel spreadsheet can hold quite a lot, though it wouldn't have to become very big before editing it becomes unbearable. Otherwise, the main advantage of using SQL would be possibility of accessing it more conveniently from the web.

Of course Java is the wrong thing to use (it almost always it). A presentation in Powerpoint or Flash would be reasonable for a quick overview, but obviously not for a database.

tbh = to be honest

It is no rhyme. It is intended to be understood as L-eet, which is kind of mixed rebus and phonics.

it makes me chuckle to see this dialogue between you all on how to compile the list in the best way. As someone married to an Aspie programmer, I wonder if this dialogue would happen on any other forum. You guys are great.
