I would walk behind you, but for different reasons.

I walk behind people. I walk ahead of people who know me such as my bf and my family because they are slow.

If people are squares, I walk at one of the corners of their trailing edge. By staying half a step behind, I can follow (because I rarely know where we're going) while still essentially being next to the person.

I walk behind or sometimes in front. I have a hard time walking alongside somebody because I like space.

I usually walk behind people too, it feels more comfortable that way

I follow, I always do. I do it for several reasons. One being that I usually walk fast, and if I'm walking with someone its easier for me to stay with them. Another is I'm not comfortable taking the lead and what not. I can't describe it as well as I'm thinking of it.

Many times I walk behind women so I can stare at their bootays. But seriously, I have noticed that I do tend to lag behind while walking with others. I think It's just because I'm so small so my legs have to work harder to carry me.

If someone was showing me around or the like, I would walk behind them as a sort of indication of respect because they are assisting me. In the same vein, I would probably prefer, if I was showing someone else around, for them to walk behind me. That's probably a bit unreasonable though.

If I'm walking with people I know, my position relative to their's fluctuates. When I was a little boy, I used to "orbit" groups of people.

I walk slightly behind, and preferably to the left of people. I also often get ahead because I walk fast.

I've noticed I walk behind people too. I'm a follower, not a leader...

I walk behind for a couple reasons

1) I tend to walk very fast, and if I'm in front, I usually leave them in the dust...;)
2) I need to see where they are, so I don't run them over...;)

I walk behind people when I'm with them or they're showing me around, it drives my friend crazy because it makes her uncomfortable. I think I mainly just do it because I don't feel like keeping up with their pace.
