just as obsession may keep someone on the spectrum constantly trying to answer replies/make
threads, there are other parts of ASDs that make using forums difficult, and not just ASD-the
user could have other disabilities which affect them,or may have a good reason for why they haven't answered, choice is also a good reason.

The accute interaction and communication impairments am have as part of own autism also crosses over to online use [forum,pm,email etc] which means am struggle a lot with back and forth/continued communication,in awareness-would never ignore others on purpose, even those have had problems with.

One of the most fun things about this site, since it has a worldwide viewership, is dealing with idiot posters who claim that they have Asperger's Syndrome or are autistic. They are easily outed if they don't stay with a thread and continue posting back and forth thru several several time cycles for at least two or three days. Normal people and other whimps actually sleep but those of us on the spectrum don't have this kind of human weakness and can stay on mark for days on end once we get a special project thing going. That's how most trolls end up getting spotted. They have to take a break and we don't.
Just one of the many wonders of being autistic.

Nice witch hunt you got going there, so I'm a troll if I sleep.
Great logic....

I think I get (loosely) what Gary is talking about. When there is a thread going that has got my attention it becomes my last and first thoughts either side of sleep and consumes a great deal of thinking space whilst at work. The bit about not sleeping na mate you're wrong there: I can and have slept in the most unlikely places, in fact I LOVE sleeping,(rather the feeling of falling asleep).

I consider you to be a troll and obviously you're here to cause trouble, flame, and harass other users. It is also narcissistic and delusional to assume that anyone's diagnosis is invalidated by a lack of desire to engage in a ceaseless argument with a person as stubborn and ignorant as you. Furthermore I can tell that you're an elitist arrogant megalomaniac Aspie, because sleep is required of us mortal Aspies and NTs alike. What you call taking a break is me being callously indifferent. Again, you're a troll and it kills you that I have better things to do then obsess about your ignorance and hatred. Keep it up and I'll simply report you to the administrators at Wrong Planet.

No. I'm saying that trolls usually stay on a schedule. There are autistic trolls you know. It isn't an exclusive NT disease.

garyww, are you serious? And people with ASDs do not have schedules? If anything ASDs have routines and a hatred for change is a common theme.

Stick with my real life schedule > Argue with Gary

Oh crap guys. Gary isn't online arguing back and forth with me, obviously he is a troll. So much for the impression that he is a insane lunatic connected to the internet 24/7 who never sleeps.

who the hell TROLLS by trying to be an autist anyway?

i didnt know that this was a widespread problem. so widespread in fact, that personal levels of research has been done on the subject, by other forum members.

i am amazed.

maybe i should research this myself.

Speaking of this thread, where the heck is Gary?

The only thing I hate more than anything is the hit and run posts. Where someone posts but never responds to any of their threads....but that's another story.

EDIT:

Found him reviving his other thread above.

LOL

I'd like to see graphs of users post distribution over a period of time on user profile pages. I bet most of them would be mad posting day and night for 3-4 months, and then going downhill. at least it would for me.

the first 4 months of my being here WP was a major obsession of mine, but now it's deteriorated. I often don't even feel like replying to threads I find interesting. WP has become a time killer in between new obsessions.

and BTW Gary, I don't think you're right with assuming that normal = idiot. I agree that idiots outnumber non-idiots in this world, but it has nothing to do with whether or not one is autistic (unfortunately).

So me not posting back and forth to someone makes me a fake? Not this again.

Am I required to read every single post here? Am I required to keep reading a thread every time someone makes a new post in it?

I don't need to follow your rules to be genuine according to you.

Agreed. I often end up loosing interest in threads I reply to or forget about them for a while, or find new ones that interest me, and so on.

Not me. I usually read as much of the thread as I can, to get the idea what it's about and where it's going, reply once and not read the thread for sometime, because I'm bored with it. That does not make me a troll. It's not in my nature to be one.
When I first joined up I would probably be posting on the forum all day long, everyday and if I wasn't near a computer I would be wanting to be on the forum. Now, I checked it occasionally but I don't seem to be that addicted to it.
I was always under the impression that trolls were deliberate sh** stirrers. I don't know anyone like that that has pretended to be autistic. Trolls usually do come back to a thread to stir it more. I should know, a friend on another forum went to another forum to troll it.

Garyww's a troll? I thought he was a legitimate user. I saw a couple of his latest threads and thought they were bitter, like he was jilted or something.

I don't think so...maybe a leprachaun but not a troll. He probably got angry at a member or two and decided to rant about it in an indirect way or just wasn't thinking. That's not to say there's no excuse for what he just posted...

Some of his posts seem very insightful and interesting. Why he made this thread.....I don't know. It's not right to accuse people of anythingo or make nasty assumptions by one's posting but I think he may be redeemable if given a second chance....
