I see it as multidimensional. I don't think the various labels can be put on any single line.

I also don't think in terms of labels.

It's a multidimensional continuum. Various different traits, each of which we have in different amounts.

DeepBlueLake--

Have you ever read The Mousetrap Blog? He has similar theories about Schizophrenia and Autism. Of course, individuals like me, with both, don't fit into this mold. :/ How do you account for us?

To answer the question--

I imagine the Autistic Spectrum as a spectrum, like light, getting broader as you move to the right, with LFA on the left end and SID, NVLD, etc. side by side at the far right end. PANDAS and PDD-NOS are like movable pins that can be stuck in wherever you want.

Sora: sounds like a highly-skilled showbusiness person, or a high-rolling gambler who really studies the game intensely. Or perhaps one of the so-called "players" of the seduction scene, who combines a sociable personality with a cynical and well-rehearsed act, focusing on seeming more magical than those around him.

As I said, you can have a mixture of traits. There's quite a few autistic borderlines on Wrong Planet. Although my diagnosis is pure Asperger's, my father was something of a psychopath and I can relate, at least intellectually, to how they see the world.

I guess that, on the little zodiac I posted, the sweet spot would come between psychopath and borderline - the classic hero type, who turns their aggressive impulses towards healing the world. A good example would be the firefighter, striding from the blazing wreckage carrying a baby.

Thanks for your answer, very interesting!

Almandite: Just found the Mousetrap blog - yes, this is the sort of thing I've been talking about. He's got some very good articles.

Here it is for anyone else who's interested.
