yes. it is my dog Peggy.

I had a lab a long time ago but he died. He was about 20 or so. I had a little black and cream Chihuahua but he ate something poisonous and died :( My Chihuahua use to collect golf balls he found in the park. I had over a thousand of them eventually. He was a smart little dog. He knew his toys by name. He had a spongebob toy (Patrick) that would talk when shaked. My little dog would toss it at 3 in the morning and I would hear random phrases like "I"m a starfish" lol coming from the hall way.

Somehow the word "proud" doesn't work for me.

Now, I don't have an Asperger's label, and not sure it would quite fit, but, anyway, seems to me, it's a label. It's the particular traits I have that make me feel good about myself or not.

That's why I had to ask why we had to ask. I was thinking the it was some kind of trick question or another.

Pride in random qualties about yourself that you had no choice in is silly. I've never understood national pride, or ethnic pride, and I don't understand aspie pride. That said I do think it makes me intersting and I am somtimes glad to have it. But somtimes not.

I absolutely agree. You can only be proud of achievements.

Very, very proud. I think Asperger's is very interesting, and it makes me who I am. I am proud of who I am, and thus, I'm proud to be an Aspie.

I would rather see myself as somebody who suffers with extream anxiety in certain situations resulting in unsual behaviours to reduce the anxiety, which all humans suffer from day to day but some are better at hiding it than others. I think if i told everyone i came in contact with i had aspergers, i would be treated differently in a good or bad way , leading me to think they are only doing it because of my aspergers creating more anxious thoughts. Unfortunantley labels can cause asumptions & judements its human nature. But on a positive note having a label helps you know why you behave in a certain way & how you can learn to adapt without being judged It jus takes longer.

Hi everyone. I have aspergers. Now my question is: are you proud to have aspergers? I can say I am. If you want me to say why, then just ask away.

I have gray hair. Does it make sense to ask if I am proud to have gray hair? What we are by nature we are and that is all there is to it.

Where is the OP. They pose a situation and then never return to the discussion and this is becoming fairly common in threads as of late.
